i need dlss to die. i need all similar technology to die and for us to go back to reasonable graphics that don't need to have a gpu hallucinating frames and/or constantly downscaling your game to come even remotely close to rendering at a playable frame rate.

and frame gen won’t look good enough until you feed so much data into it & the perf cost is so huge that it’s counterproductive. Already the perf hit from frame-gen is stupid huge, making things look less fluid in many cases than just leaving it off.

Sorry if the sympathetic rant is annoying.

I’m yelling this nonstop. These technologies were all developed for “a frictionless vacuum” and something as basic as an animated texture can break them. That’s without getting into the insane horse power that’s needed for the most basic “not-total-dogshit HW-driven TAA” that still isn’t good enough

reminds me of when I played DQ1 on one of those FC to SFC adapters, except Bomberman is far more harmonious here
