I installed a piece of video software called Frigate to run some RTSP cameras on our bird feeders. In addition to a variety of actually useful features, it has an "AI" to recognize objects. The AI is.... uh... well.....

Total lunar eclipses aren't as spectacular as total solar eclipses, but they have the advantage of being far more frequent and lasting much longer! Unfortunately, high clouds made these pictures a bit fuzzier than I'd've liked.

Sad day for Pittsburgh. Mike Lange was my favorite hockey announcer. Listened on KDKA as a kid driving to hockey practice in Wisconsin & in college in Pittsburgh. Even appeared as himself in "Sudden Death"! Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building 🙁

Huh. So apparently the BlueSky API no longer allows you to set the creation time on your posts so my TwiX data import resulted in every Tweet I've done since, like, 2009 showing up as if I did it today.... Lovely.

If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing!

Yeah, you can run a thing called a Personal Data Server (which is conveniently packaged for Docker). It keeps all your data inside your own server is. Took me ~30 minutes to get it going, including f'ing around with my DNS server.
If you do that, you have to edit this importer to talk to your server

Ah, ok. I host my own but I'm not sure if that's the problem or some weird node.js thing.

Did it have any issues with the fact that your handle is (I'm assuming) on your own server?

I'm having authentication errors....

Nice! We'll have to try that again, especially when we take off in weird spots. We have a newer drone than the one that got confused by the car but just never tried it again.

Do you have luck with that? The only time I tried it, the metal in the car roof f'd up the GPS and it wouldn't let us take off.
