No Sony Exclusives For Xbox We all know the ambitions that Microsoft has with Xbox’s next console. It’s going to be a PC-hybrid. We’ve known about this for some time now. We’ve also discussed how I believe Sony would climb down on their support of first-party single-player games on the PC due to that very reason. And it happened, there are rumours being backed up by ‘industry insiders’ with a pedigree in credibility and reliability that is stating this is the case. But what does it all really mean for the industry? Well, Sony might be looking at how Xbox’s hardware has plummeted in terms of hardware sales. Gaming fans know that Xbox doesn’t really have exclusives anymore. They’re now very much on competing platforms like PlayStation. I do not think it’s the software success of going multi-platform that has spooked Sony. It’s the incredible decline in the Xbox hardware. Another thing that’s certain as …

Seismic Change at Xbox How am I feeling as an Xbox fan now? Well, a sense of ‘hope’ for where the brand can be taken based on the core principles and pillars of what Xbox means as a brand. There has been much hate for new female lead Asha Sharma. Hate that really isn’t based on any great level of substance. Whatever her credentials. Only time is going to tell where Xbox goes from here on out. It’s a brand that has obviously suffered a lot over the years, but at the same time, it’s doing a lot of ‘good’ for the players it’s actually serving and that’s where it needs to lead. Phil Spencer did many good things for the Xbox division, but like with anything in business, the indirection of the brand has been killing it recently overall. My hope is that Asha can steady the ship, while also bringing back some …

A lot of stuff going on with Xbox at the moment. Looking forward to writing a piece on that soon.

I am with everyone when they say. "Give Carrick the position". An English manager that with the "full support" of the board could be a breath of fresh air.

We've tried different managerial options from expertise to everything else. Sometimes you just have to look at what's in front of you.

How Long Can Sony Live on PS4? There have been terrible decisions this generation. Let’s put things in context. I am not saying that any company is better than any other or that you should seemingly leave your library based on these decisions that Sony is making. One thing is for sure is that since the new leadership was put in place and ever since this generation started there have been these epicentre of failures. The brand is suffering, a while ago I wrote an article about how PlayStation was losing its soul. It has lost everything that made the PS4 era so damn popular. It actually had a leadership team that got what its fanbase wanted. The euphoria from that and its comeback on decisions that Microsoft made back in the day. It was a real reason why they ‘won’ the console sale numbers. Rising PlayStation Studios costs and even their lack of new IP. It’s …

Long Live Fallout The Outer Worlds has had its time. I am sad to see it go. I have a feeling that a lot of the focus will now be on a New Vegas remake. If we can get either that or a Fallout 3 remake. I think that would go a long way to everyone understanding the decision. Let’s get it right, Fallout is just a bigger name and with its exposure now in TV form. It’s living a second life of sorts in terms of getting everyone interested in the next big thing from that team. It took only 18 months for Obsidian to develop New Vegas. Which is arguably the best game in the franchise. Now with it seeing it’s age, we could see a new lease of life within one of these popular entries in the franchise. If Elder Scrolls is still a way off. I just see Fallout …

The World’s a Bit Bluer Without Bluepoint I would like to reiterate something to you all now. I have predicted a lot of things in my time but never in a million years would I have thought that PlayStation would shutter Bluepoint games. It’s a long established studio and it seems tone-deaf to what PlayStation fans actually want to see. In an era where Microsoft is the biggest publisher and God of War is getting a 7.0 (which isn’t bad by any means) but considering all we know, and what’s happened this generation. PlayStation is losing the edge within its own development teams with the heavy lifting being done by others around the industry. One of the reasons why I left the PlayStation ecosystem was because of their live-service approach and because their store prices are crazy. Which is something that PlayStation fans are actually getting compensation for at some point. But as a PlayStation fan of …

The Streaming Wars When HBO Max enters the streaming competition in the UK and goes toe to toe with the others on equal footing. I believe they have the content to really challenge Netflix. I actually think it’s one of the reasons why Netflix has gone to try and acquire Warner Bros. That would be a huge deal for them, and also, it would extend Netflix’s dominance in terms of the content they could offer subscribers. It could also be a window of opportunity for them to raise prices further. HBO Max has the content to really challenge the status quo. By bundling up with Sky Ultimate it gives people instant access and gives the service a window of opportunity to get people binging on that content. Amazon and Apple are raising the stakes as well, but for me personally, I feel like Paramount Plus are also the ones to watch. With Netflix, …

Why The LG C Series Can’t Be Beaten If you’re a serious gamer. You’re going to want HDMI 2.1. This future-proofs your setup. Having 120hz and everything working smoothly when you go into your TV settings with everything being ticked off on your console, that’s the dream. I think LG TV’s cannot be beaten in terms of what they can do for your gaming setup. OLED is far superior than anything else and you’re likely to have less issues than with anything else. You cannot go cheap when it comes to your TV display. Why would you when you have a PS5 Pro or a Series X. It’s just unconceivable right? That’s why picking the LG C series will be the best thing you can do. Trust me, you will not regret it.

Calm.com has been great for me. I've been using it for the last three years.

They currently have an offer on and you can usually get a discount on a yearly subscription if you sign up by email first and wait it out. It's well worth it.

There is a Switch 2 price increase on the way. It's very much been heard on the grape-vine. Buying one now might save you in the long-run.

Meditation being at the forefront of that. It's a really good read and I invite you to check this one out.

RE: Requiem Releases Next Week Resident Evil Requiem launches on February the 27th. After that State of Play, and with the franchise on a high after back-to-back successors from Capcom. It’s a game that is on the radar of most fans this month, and what a way to start the year as well. You’re going to want to check it out since this is the start of a broader era to the series after previous entries were back-to-back sequels. I feel like we’re in a bit of a revival era right now. We have both Resident Evil and the Silent Hill franchises going strong. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we saw The Evil Within return also at the next major Xbox showcase? That would be like the ultimate trio of horror games. Loving the fact that horror is making the comeback that it deserves.

Longevity in Generations Are Okay There is a lot of talk about the euphoria of people who want the PS5 to last longer this generation. You know, I think the argument for being longer is valid than ever. Not only is hardware these days getting more expensive, but we’ve reached an impasse where the technologies that we are getting in relative terms are indistinguishable. This generation has shown two things. The technology we have for PS5 Pro and Series X is still absolutely fine for most software, and also, the majority of people need more of a reason than flashier specs to upgrade. Software and exclusives define a hardware, but we’re even ‘losing’ that and to that effect this is the reason why most gamers are making the decision to just roll with what they have. In fact, PlayStation and Xbox have noticed the fact that fans of their respective brands are using older hardware. …

Scrobble Last FM With Any App Music is a big part of my life, and so is keeping track of what I am listening to and being able to discover new music along the way. Now bear in mind, this only works on Android, but this is a really great way of scrobbling on any music app. Last.fm is the service that I use to do this and it’s a platform that’s been ongoing for a long time. What I do find is that Spotify has this natively, but if you want to have this on practically any other app this is the way to do it and track all your music in real-time. If you download Pano Scrobbler from the Google Play Store via your mobile. You then want to download it on your Windows PC, or even Chromebook and you can scrobble using YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and other apps that do not have …

The Problem With ‘AI’ We live in a world where it’s easier than ever to ‘create’. We also live in a world where a lot of this isn’t organic and made by a human being. The problem I have with AI isn’t personal in its ability to help, but by the effect of how it’s indirectly destroying the many lives of the future the more focus that we are putting into it. It’s also getting closer in the probability that we are seeing a shift in the dynamics of content creation. There is a fine balance and without any sort of ‘control’ and responsibility. Especially in terms of getting this more governed we’re going to see mimics of content that are not authentic. As we know, authenticity is really important and when people have a ‘good’ idea that’s elevated into the front of the conversation. The more people use ‘AI’ we really are diminishing …

Could ‘Xbox’ Get Spiderman 2? A lot of talk has been around the fact that we might not ever see a native Xbox port of Spider Man 2. While that might be the case based on what Insomniac is telling fans. Unless Sony does something to make it nigh on impossible, the next generation hardware from Xbox will allow any fan on team green to play a PC version from within Xbox. There is a lot of work in backwards compatibility and forward compatibility going on. The latter part theoretically points to there being a real chance. Unless, of course. Sony decided to wall that content behind a PlayStation launcher. Which is their right, they would make more money after all. Sony is known for being very competitive and protective around their content. Not in the same vein as Nintendo, but still that point remains. If the PC version was somehow able to run in …

Nicolas Cage is Back in a Big Way! Nicolas Cage is back in a big way and I couldn’t be happier for the guy who has had a lot of ups and downs in his career. Even when he’s been out of the spotlight he’s done some great movies. However, at Amazon Prime. He is back in a big way with the Spider-Noir series that is going to have all streaming episodes instantaneously. He’s one of my favourite actors in hollywood. I am still hoping for another National Treasure. Which is apparently still in the works. Last time I heard, there was also a Face-off sequel in the works, which happens to be a favorite movie of mine with the two leading actors in that to return. However, just recently the director has left so hopefully that doesn’t put that project in jeopardy. It’s quite the return for Nicolas Cage, and I am all here for it, and …

Why That State of Play Delivered One of the best things I saw from that PlayStation State of Play last week was the fact that Konami are making new stuff again. I’ve spoken in the past about how Konami ‘could’ make a comeback. However, it was mostly to do with the Metal Gear Solid franchise. For them to go on and bring out a new IP. That’s a million miles a better outcome that most of us could have anticipated. It was a strong State of Play just based on that, and although it never had the heavy hitters that Sony is known for. It does show potential for where Sony could go even bigger next time with everything left out. We’ve seen that Capcom are back in force again with two games that we’ve heard a bit about already and they’re looking very good as well. The fact that Konami is also doing a new …

Sir Jim in The Spotlight We all know what Manchester United represents. So when a co-owner of Manchester United comes out and speaks about a really sensitive topic of discussion within the United Kingdom. It’s going to ring a lot of alarm bells. Is there some truth to what Jim is saying? Maybe. We all know the country has had many problems with numbers. However, to pre-determine with no evidence whatsoever about immigration ideals while also claiming they don’t contribute is a step to far. In a really high volatile moment for this country politically where hate is becoming the norm in essence. I just find this coming from a co-owner of Manchester United to be pretty staggering in tone, at a time when Manchester United do not need to be in the spotlight for the ‘wrong’ reasons. Not only is this a really brazen take, it’s not taking into account how people do contribute …

Sky Ultimate is Getting Better Big news in the world of streaming with Sky Ultimate, which is essentially a part of Sky Stream. It’s getting even better. It includes the new HBO Max, Hayu and the latter of which is Netflix which is already included. It’s promised to be worth over £20 in streaming apps. Uniting them under one umbrella is a win-win. It not only adds to the affordability, but allows the streaming companies numbers to increase based on the services offered which will obviously increase subscription numbers all around. We all know the promise of these apps and that something was needed to combine them to provide a better deal. It looks like Sky has answered that call with their Sky Ultimate subscription and it makes their Sky Stream service a pretty good deal on the set tiers in the UK. When you have this many streaming apps ongoing. Something had to give. …
