We invite all churches and Christians of the world, and all people of faith and good will, to join in praying for peace in the Middle East, and everywhere in our world where there is conflict and strife.
This is not a surprise. Far too many North American Christians are gleeful that this might lead to what they see as inevitable.
Learned about it in College in the late 80s at Eastern Mennonite University as part of my studies toward my degree in International Development. Robert McAfee Brown's Unexpected News was a key book for me
The opposition to solar is so interesting to me. Reminds me of what I read about when electric first came around or when cars came. Many people protest progress, just because it is different.
While it isn't quite 100% true, it is close. Your comment on the modern American evangelical model is spot on. One interesting oddity is that if you want traditional 4 part singing, you need to go to either traditionalist churches or progressive ones, the middle is hollowed out by worship music.
Help me out here. Idaho teacher puts up a WELCOME poster with different color hands. District lawyer "Not everyone agrees they are welcome, in this political environment, it's considered a personal opinion." School board agrees, sign violates "classroom content to be neutral." WTH? #TheStupidItHurts
Check out what Colonial Gov. Keith and James Logan were saying as far back as 1717. They sound just like a certain political party today.
And this is why I will never support changes to voting requirements until it is done at the Government's cost. www.facebook.com/share/p/17uY...
And when my ancestors came to the Lancaster area, the Colonial leaders complained about being overrun by people who "would not assimilate and spoke another language." Hmmmm

Chester County would also have a large population of recently arrived folks, who all seem to look the same to ICE, that work in the mushroom farms.
it was a powerful story. Thank you for sharing with all of us. It should make some folks think very hard about where they find themselves right now.
A good example of why we should never assume someone's background or identity based on their profile pic. Sorry you got accused of not being the person to share these words.

I know so many people who are strong #2A advocates. Without exception, I have not seen any of them on this or any other social media complaining about the US citizen who had a concealed carry permit being hauled away. I can't "qwhite" put my finger on why that might be.
I saw growth in fundraising. I was pointing out at least one is growing in # but not in $. Sorry if I misread.
Yes
Not the complete picture. One of the biggest "break-offs" of MCUSA has been growing by leaps and bounds in every way but $. Seems churches are not investing in the structure, they just want to be part of something not MCUSA.
What scares me is that far too many Anabaptists/Mennonites don't even pretend to be against state violence now. Tacit approval is common.
Sorry, I live in the middle of Amishland and I can tell you this is not factual. They were affected, but often not reported as COVID related. Same with plain Mennonites.
Thanks for sharing this. Also found this so instructive. "We are quite comfortable forbearing in other areas of our church life.... Yet, fissures rarely develop in our church about these ethical and theological concerns."
ya all good with this #GOP? A vet, had TSA Pre-Clearance, etc, etc, etc, www.12news.com/article/news...
It is a small group of Anabaptists, unfortunately, as American Evangelicalism has co-opted many parts of this group; however, some pockets are really trying to make a difference and live out Christ's call.
There would be a FEW Amish who have been adopted by more progressive branches of Amish or joined the church directly. Especially in the "Beachy Amish" and other groups who do international outreach work.
We are glad to share our #Christmas video with you. May your celebrations be filled with light. vimeo.com/landiscommun...
When I played years ago, it was first on the "Trilateral Commission" and then on the "Parched Monkeys." That team even had T-shirts.
As a PA resident, it is sad to see long-time companies going under and lives affected. Balancing that off with the whole #FAFO feeling. www.pennlive.com/news/2025/12...
A San Antonio pastor tells Border Report that several members of her Mennonite congregation face deportation after being arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at government check-ins.
