You’re right, and I mostly agree… but $1000 would be enough to at least keep people’s heads above the water (covering rent, food, and then some), and getting into programs like welfare and SNAP is very hard. They just need to make price gouging illegal (sadly, they most likely never will).

I won’t, because that creates problematic implications. Sure, Donald Trump is downright awful… but not every convicted person is. Some people who are convicted were done so unfairly or for unjustified reasons. It’s not fair to broadly stigmatize people who are convicted or felons for that reason.

That’s an interesting and important point that I wasn’t aware of, thanks for shedding light on that. However, UBI would still be better than what we have now if they guarantee it stay a living wage and keep up with “inflation” (they would probably never do this, though).
