I feel like Discord and a lot of other apps and services are doing this thing where they announce really sudden and upsetting changes and then "backtrack" some of it to make us okay with changes that are still unethical but "it's not that bad".

Discord is already a hole where memory goes to die what do you think will happen when it turns into yet another thing trying to record EVERYTHING YOU DO.

I genuinely think Discord may have gotten less backlash if they just paywalled "adult content" instead of turning it into full-blown spyware.
