I was on KTVU this morn discussing our new data tracking the CA's financial health. Two diverging trends: (1) a resurgent mortgage market, led by large home loans in the Bay, (2) more folks falling behinds on debts, especially student loans. This K-shaped recovery is hurting CA.

The fed student loan pmt pause is over and a huge number of Californians are late on their loans, much more than before the pandemic. Boomers and Gen X are more often late on payments than younger folks. This comes as personal fin health is at its worst since Great Recession....that's a bad combo.
