Well thank you. It may be a long time however, as my current group is halfway into a homebrewed campaign, and we’ll probably play a totally different genre with our next. But I maintain it’s a good idea.

It’s narcissism writ large. Accusations a narcissist makes are almost always confessions about their own behavior. Demonizing enemies and in order to gather allies through hypocrisy is classic narcissistic behavior.

In other news, continued our Shadow of the Weird Wizard game last night. Lately they’ve been plowing through enemies without much issue. Lots of whiz bang killer abilities. I think they’re having fun and the mood of the game is cool. But I would like it to be more of a challenge.

Had my friend ask when we were resuming our megadungeon crawling game again and that she’d like to get back to it. Schedules are a bit tough lately, but I’m hoping it happens sometime in October.

Thought I’d drop a proof of life post. I’m still alive! Life is kicking my backside a bit, but I’m around. Running Shadow of the Weird Wizard for my Friday group, painting #Warhammer40k where I apparently started a new Thousand Sons army in time to see them get nerfed. Ah well.

I’m diving back in with a second group. My Friday night group is playing something completely different and has been around in some shape since about 2008 or so.

We were playing that campaign over Roll20 and Discord for the entirety of our Covid distancing year. I think when we decided to move back to in-person games again, everyone wanted to play something fresh and different. That’s my regular Friday night group.

Cool. In my last campaign we got down a little past the Temple of Pain on level 4, but I think the campaign petered out after that.

Sounds good. Glad to know I’ve got a great story to look forward to.

I did a year plus long Stonehell game a few years ago. I can definitely confirm that, which is why I wanted to use it again. How far down are they now?

Yep. It was crawling and killing in the Bandit Caves for my players. Pretty much cleared the place out over 2-3 sessions. Only started into regular Stonehell last session.

This campaign? Maybe 6-8. But much of that was in the Bandit Caves and not in Stonehell proper.

I think because the ethos of typical fantasy is there’s got to be a good guy. Or at the very least a gal you root for, even though the gal is unprincipled or a mercenary. So when that book subverted my expectations and there wasn’t really any good guys, just degrees of bad, that was hard. But… war.

Sounds like a rad session. One of my Stonehell players today asked when our next session would be. Looks like it’s time to defeat the schedule monster again.
