Still working on Porcupine, just had to put focus on some other projects for a bit so development has slowed
Will hopefully come out with a new update soon though!
Oh how strange, I'll look into that :)
Not a dumb question at all :) They're stored using IndexedDB which is much more generous with storage space than cookies or localStorage. But it also helps that Fountain files are usually pretty small
So glad you like it! Let me know if there's any new features you'd like to see, I'm always looking for feedback :)
New logo: Porcupine has a new logo! It's a little porcupine made out of three brackets and a period :)
Plus many more little changes designed to make your writing as enjoyable as possible
Give it a try! You don't need to sign-up or no download anything, just start writing...
Better sidebar: bring order to your files with clearer organisation, quicker access to useful tools, and the ability to pin your most important files
Export and import: easily import and export all your files and preferences in one go so you can easily move between devices and back everything up
Revision history: actually shows you what you changed in each version so you can easily find that amazing line from a few hours ago
PLUS there's now no limit to how many revisions it Porcupine can store
Porcupine just got a major update... you can now write screenplays on mobile for free! π
Here's what else is new...
Major redesign: I've redesigned the whole app making it prettier, more customisable (fonts, colours, themes) and more accessible
...
Version 0.6.0 just launched with full mobile support and a nice new logo!
Go write screenplays!
Ooh yeah, that looks like a really useful feature, I'll add it to the todo list :)
Had to take a break from working on Porcupine but I'm back! New update soon!!
Porcupine is now live on Product Hunt! If you enjoy using Porcupine, or want to support a free, cross-platform screenwriting app, come say hi :)
Version 0.4 of my screenwriting app is out now!
This update brings autocomplete for names and scenes, drag & drop scene reorganising, experimental scene number support, plus many other additions to improve the writing experience
Give it a try. It's free, with no sign-ups and no downloads!
Big moment for Porcupine, I've just released an update which brings support for dual dialogue, notes and boneyards meaning it now fully supports everything you can do in Fountain!
So glad you like it! I'm hoping to eventually improve the mobile experience once I've got most of the desktop features completed
Half a year ago, I released Porcupine - a free screenwriting app designed for everyone - that automatically formats everything for you without the need to sign-up or download
I've now added offline mode, web app support, a built-in notepad, more in-depth stats, overviews and more
Take a look!
Hi again, just letting you know that PWA support has now been added!
Sorry, just saw your messages! Yes, the plan is to make the app a PWA hopefully in the next version (due in a few weeks). I'll make it a priority now you've requested it though! I never used the Amazon tool but it indirectly inspired me to create Porcupine, so I hope I can live up to it one day :)
I just released a screenwriting app that automatically formats your screenplay for you as you write, is distraction-free and can instantly export to PDF and Fountain
It's free and works on everything (Windows, Mac, etc.)
Please try it out and send me your feedback! I'd love to hear your thoughts
If you're a screenwriter or have ever wanted to try screenwriting, I just released Porcupine, a free screenwriting app for everyone
It's like Beat/Highland/Slugline but available online, on all devices and with no restrictions
I'd love for you to try it and let me know your thoughts :)
