A really good post my lovely, with Facts, info and visual examples. X
I am really fortunate that in Norfolk I dig up medieval silver hammered coins fairly frequently, but seldom do I get to see as much detail as on this one found this week, absolutely gorgeous. It's an Edward I penny, Type 7b minted in London 1292-1296AD. Pity about the plough dink, otherwise perfect.
Did you get that from "my hammered Alley" ?
GIT ORFFF MY LANNND π
I don't doubt that for a second. πSteve and I were then saying "bet Paul has many many finds"
I want one ππ
You Jammy So & So ! Really lovely fond is that. A double πΉπΉ and a bent double love token, BONUS β€οΈ
I always hope to dig up something I've not found before; last week this little fella delivered. No portrait on this unusual coin, just crowned roses on both sides, it being a Charles I half groat 1625-42. Bent as a 'love token' was a bonus, my earliest example, but tricky to photograph.

While detecting last week I found this tiny duck. Guess I could say I went duck hunting. I brought him home to live with my other, once lost animal toys. I'm making a zoo

I occasionally dig up foreign coins, but this one is a first for me, a hammered French 'Douzain au Deux C' of Charles IX. Unfortunately both the year and mint mark are illegible, but dates from 1560-1574. Made mostly of copper with a little bit of silver.

Finding a tiny child's thimble today. These wonderful little objects always please me. This sweet little one is in perfect shape, it should clean up nicely.

Thanks Doc. I'm going to do that.
Thanks Lynn
We've made a bottle vase wall in our kitchen. Having vases at head height is cool, can't wait for Sweetpea season, cos these will smell lovely when wafting past them.

It is. On the original video I credit you, but I've had to chop 35 seconds off to upload here.
