A close-up photo of a computer monitor showing the Render Queue in DaVinci Resolve. The project titled “Shuttle XPC (Remake) | Main Video” is actively rendering, located at /home/richie/Videos/Videos/ShuttleXPC.mov. The progress bar shows 22% complete with 7 minutes and 51 seconds remaining, and below it, the text reads “Rendering in Progress – 1 of 1 Jobs”. The timeline with multiple video tracks is partially visible at the bottom of the screen.

The scene shows a bright green Dodge Neon racing through a city tunnel at night, slightly airborne as it speeds along the yellow-striped road. The on-screen HUD shows the player in 1st place, 26 seconds into the race, driving at 170 km/h in 4th gear. The name “Eh” appears in the top-right leaderboard. A small minimap with blue arrows is on the lower left, and a tachometer and speedometer are in the lower right. In the bottom left corner of the video, a glowing orange quarter-circle progress bar arcs beside the text “Need for Speed Underground.
Thought I’d share a capture from my latest video in progress, the #shuttlexpc video. Yes, the text and progress bar are colourful. I was playing with various #davinciresolvefusion nodes and key framing, and just thought it looked cool! #davinciresolve #needforspeedunderground #videomaking

Will this ruffle some feathers? Maybe. Just don’t shoot the messenger.

Quite a bit done now. This video has been completely redone since I first began working on it (new script, new footage, new project). I’ve been at the new video for a total of 15-20 hours (kinda just guessing), and still have another few hours of work left. But it’s safe to say - it’s coming soon.
28.10.2025 09:42 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Quick update. The first five minutes have taken me around four or five hours to complete… and I’ve got A LOT more to go. Oh dear. (Yes, I’m familiar with how long not lazily editing video takes)

The project on screen shows a split view — the clip monitor in the middle features a Shuttle XPC Cube illuminated with dramatic purple and blue lighting, while the timeline monitor on the right shows a retro-themed desk setup with an early 2000s IBM ThinkPad, the same Shuttle XPC Cube, an iMac G4, and a Dell LCD monitor in the background. Below, the timeline displays video and audio tracks with adjustment layers and clips arranged in sequence. The workspace around the screen is dimly lit, with a faint warm reflection on the desk surface and a CD visible in front of the monitor.
For the first time in 9 months since I first teased this video, it’s finally fully filmed and just needs to be edited. Wow. #videomaking #davinciresolve #shuttlexpc #ibmthinkpad

25.10.2025 07:08 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Ads in things I already purchased crosses a major red line for me. It’s why I won’t use Windows, and keep my smart TV and Xbox offline. If I bought some device that doesn’t work offline because it needs to show me ads? It goes back to the store.
23.10.2025 22:00 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Wouldn’t surprise me. Mine’s pretty slow to begin with, and they probably just get bogged down with all the stuff that collects on them like old Windows used to, combined with asinine SoCs that are underpowered to begin with. Needless to say, I’m not a fan of smart TVs.
23.10.2025 20:40 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I don’t use the smart functions on mine, but the TV fully shuts down after a certain period of no use, meaning when I do use it, it has to go through a boot sequence. It also has flaky HDMI ports and sometimes blanks during a game, but then again I didn’t want to spend $1,000+ on a TV.
23.10.2025 20:29 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Literally my situation in Canada. I could not buy a “dumb TV”. I had no choice but to get a smart one. I never use its smart capabilities, and it stays offline. It made me mad. I hate that TV (though mostly for other reasons than it’s a smart TV), but it’s not the consumer deciding these things.
23.10.2025 20:19 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0To sell more products and collect user data, is my guess. Some of it is neat and helpful, but the pessimist in me says it’s not for our benefit.
23.10.2025 20:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I wish more people adhered to this line of thought. I don’t think most people want these things to be Internet-connected, the company decided that for them (for not-good reasons). It’s just that people will buy these things because they don’t see past the marketing fluff the way people like us do.

A nighttime cityscape of downtown Vancouver, taken from a 6th-floor hotel balcony. The view shows a marina filled with boats in the foreground, a row of trees illuminated by warm streetlights, and a dense cluster of high-rise buildings in the background, their windows glowing with light under a cloudy night sky.
A nighttime view from the same balcony, looking out over the marina toward Coal Harbour.
