We need to make sure we connect every single disaster and fatality to Trump. Everyone died in the plane crash because of understaffing and a culture of chaos in air traffic control that he created. We need to say it over and over and over again. Journalists need to connect those dots in bold font.
All of us are higher risk of food contamination, fatal accidents like this airplane crash, pandemics, natural disasters, increasing gun violence and right wing domestic terrorism. Our risk of bad luck skyrocketed when Trump took office. That includes the people who voted for Trump too.
So many cis straight white folks don’t feel they are in any danger during a Trump administration because they won’t be targeted by ICE or have their identity questioned. But all the privilege in the world can’t protect you from a gutted system collapsing.
