Literally, at work this morning:

Clinician: Patient should stop medication A, but must keep taking medication B.

AI VR transcription of this: Patient should stop taking medication B.

Seriously NEVER LET A DOCTOR USE AI FOR YOUR APPOINTMENTS. NEVER. UNDER ANY FUCKING CIRCUMSTANCES.

A guy who worked for the old regime told me at a party just before Bradford's regime came in, that it would result in higher prices and reduced investment in generation. He said no one believed him. Wish I could recall his name.

Well, out here in the colonies, you could use the Māori word Hōhā. Bored, annoyed, or over it.

Yes, that must be worry for cops over there. I have seen a couple of videos where the person had a concealed weapon, or one on the seat next to them.

It's unconstitutional! ;-)

Interesting that they've done this. I wonder if police overseas (i.e. US) have done this? It appears Florida might have, given some videos I've seen recently - there seems to be a speed and consistency lacking elsewhere. Also some US judges are onto it too.

Book Review: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen Like many people I’ve read Pride & Prejudice, but none of Jane Austen’s other novels, so this year I resolved to put that right. I start my journey with the first book she completed…

Northanger Abbey. A short, fun, poke at the gothic novel genre by Jane Austen.

McCall-Smith, perhaps? Too light/stupid?

Luxon reminds me of executives who force you to do things you know won’t work and they never take that advice and eventually things fail and they throw their team under the bus and they get moved from org to org and then eventually getting pushed out and they do the same thing at the next company.

Voyager 1 is currently more than 24 billion kilometres from Earth and getting 17km farther every second and hilariously it is not as out of touch with New Zealand as our Prime Minister

Govt threatens to imprison homeless for 90 days at a cost of $49,680 per person Govt to empower Police to 'move on' homeless with threat of three months prison, costing taxpayer $552 per person per night; Govt adds 2,000 prison beds since election & delivers 420 new homes

FYI I’ve opened this one up for full public reading, listening & sharing after requests from paying subscribers. Their support allows me to do this public interest journalism on Aotearoa’s political economy around housing, climate & poverty in public. #nzpol open.substack.com/pub/thekaka/...

Happy 'Former Freemason, 51, found drunk and naked inside a huge pipe organ with a toy gun and remote-controlled police car says he got lost while trying to hand out cheeseburgers to the homeless' Day to those who celebrate.

And, before you ask, I'm 49.

I have a rough night sleeping every night. Have done for a while. I wonder if cops turning up to move me on would help me sleep any better?

Also, who the hell called it rough sleeping? These folk are homeless.

A better phone UX: Thank you for calling [business]. Do you want ads on this call, press 1. Do you want the same tune repeated for 30 minutes, press 2. Would you like to wait in silence, with the odd update, press 3.
