I call Dave, as I often do, and say "Hey! I got an idea. You have any time?" And if he does, we start texting -- I sometimes send (bad) thumbnails and then once the gags are worked out, I commission him to do the piece. So yes, Dave made it, with input from me.

Or paying decently to have the original creators back. To most current rank and file animation execs, the value is in the IP, not the creators. It's different in prime time, but for "kids shows" it's about staffing the job with whoever works cheapest, and firing them the second the job is done.
What I dread is the copycat AI Walt soon to be charging 200.00 for a photo op at Disneyland.
