My dad and my aunt as he was leaving home to be stationed in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor, after the attack. Dad saw all the destruction and was a radio decoder. Up late at night, listening to the airwaves, with the weight of the world on his shoulders as another attack was expected.

A high school sepia photo of a girl in the late 1930’s. My mother, Nan, was raised on a ranch, Bonnie Brae, north of San Francisco. She met Woody in high school. They were going to marry after the war. He was a hot shot pilot, who enlisted right away and was stationed on a ship in the Pacific. The ship went down with him on it never to be seen again. Mom was devastated. She met Al in a USO event in San Francisco when he had a brief furlough after being sent to Pearl Harbor. They wrote to each other for the two years he was stationed there. Both mom & dad had lost due to the war. But both were patriots and loved this country. They were part of a flood of patriots who fought for freedom in World War ll. We owe it to every soldier killed and every woman working at home to support the effort throughout that time in history, to protect our country now as the framework of our democracy is under attack. Mom and dad are rolling in their graves, from the knowledge of the blatant authoritarian regime, so much like Hitler’s takeover of Germany, which is threatening our country. We need to stand united against authoritarianism and fascism as it has reared its ugly head here in the US. For those we love here and past.

This is my dad Al & his sis Ida & that’s my mom Nan. They met in SF at a USO dance - my dad was stationed in Hawaii after the attack. She had lost her fiancée in the Pacific, he saw unspeakable things. They loved this country enough to feel pain for it. We can’t let their suffering be for naught.

I sew. So I made a banner with No Kings, Impeach, Convict, Remove and a slash through DJTs orange face. Many people listening to speeches behind in the rain.

It’s been a while. Not up to snuff yet dealing with more health issues. Sewing, no matter what it is, helps me cope with the sadness/stress of this deplorable regime and all the bad things they do. No to ICE, No to concentration camps, No to bad budgets, No to tariffs, No kings in the US, No to DJT!

Reps’ “death bill” will trigger 500B cuts to Medicare. Yes Medicare. 800B in cuts to Medicaid & roughly 279B cuts to SNAP because of PAYGO, which stands for “pay as you go,” - a budget rule requiring tax cuts & mandatory spending increases must be offset by tax hikes or cuts in mandatory spending.

I haven’t posted in a while due to an illness. I’m recouping well now and 2 of my kids gave me a day’s work in my garden as a birthday present. Flowers and plants soon to come. My hands in the earth on Earth Day!!!

People from her district need to challenge her and start getting vocal about her stepping down. And someone from that district needs to step up with courage and conviction to run to take her place when she does.

My apologies for making you feel unheard. I hate when that happens to me so I’m sincerely sorry. I’m sure you understood my concern that DJT has bred his special brand of divisiveness. Thoughts of increased unity help me get thru the day. It’s us against him. We need to increase the numbers of “us”.

If I am the only one standing, I will be at the statehouse on the 19th in solidarity!

He doesn’t give a rat’s a** about anyone but himself and those who can benefit him with money to give him. Recession will only punish all of us average people, while they have the money to buy up all the stock. We sell our earnings so we can survive. They buy low, right?! It’s evil!

Finding unity against this nightmare regime is and should be our greatest focus. The only numbers that really matter now are the number of people who oppose him, his sinking approval rating, and the numbers of us who see his divisiveness as evil and can offer them a way out. The faster, the better!
