Exhausted 🫠 and it’s only Wednesday!) But happy 🙃. Today, soon after I got out of bed at 5am to put in an hour of PhD work before the little one wakes up, I learned that my paper proposal to the Conference on Policy Process Research has been accepted! 🤓

Even though I may be physically far from Latin America and Peru, through my research and initiatives like this, I remain close: with my country and the region always on my mind and in my heart. ❤️

I also had the opportunity to put Peru on the agenda by presenting my doctoral research, and I received very enriching comments and support from my colleagues at Maxwell. 🇵🇪💡

In a department and school where a minority of academics focus their studies on Latin America, it felt important to create a space to share our projects, provide feedback, and support one another along the way.

Last Friday was a very special day at @maxwellsu.bsky.social : the first meeting of the Latin American Politics Discussion Group, which I co-coordinate with Erika Arias under the mentorship of Jessie Trudeau. ✨
