I have half a book now! 219 pages/60,731 words. OK, prologues are perhaps a bit old fashioned, but my other 5 books have 1. I use them to introduce information that is helpful in understanding the world I've created. Have been looking for the right voice for Book 6 for a while, & finally found it.
Oh my. π I started my first one in 1984 and got it published on 2013.
Maybe he recognized you.
Congratulations!!! I'm an Indie author of Alternate Universe Fantasy, but I'm on the west coast of North America.
I get it all down and then edit later.
Hey, Fang.
Hello.
Acme Corp: Unlimited credit for disadvantaged coyotes
I am working on a sixth novel, working title "Where's the Bear?" I know where I want to go with it, but the characters keep grabbing hold of things and trying to tug it off over that way.
Uppity damn characters.
SOrry.
The first one is "SomeWhen Over the Rain Clouds."
My fifth book.
I was going through some old files today and rediscovered my tagline collection. One of my favorite ones was...

Re: the Geaehn Chronicles, a fantasy series
Three Seattle cab drivers wake up one morning to find themselves in a world where magic works. However, not all think this is wonderful.
Armed only with street smarts & the clothes on their backs, whatever shall these 3 cab drivers do?

My fourth book...
Cab company I drove for had 5 cabs when I started; half the crew lived at at the dispatch office. This drawing is of the cab they put all the new drivers in. When they painted the cabs , they'd paint the whole car yellow, and then paint the roof hood and trunk lid red.
Retired cab driver. Yup, you read that right. I drove for a small mom-and-pop cab company run out of the Northgate area, north of Seattle from 1981 to 1992. In the 1980s, if ever you saw a red-and-yellow taxi cab driving itself down the road, that was probably me.
I had a "presence" on Twitter but never saw much use in it. This is ... different.
My third book...
@siouxze.bsky.social Hey, you!!!
Bonnie, When I clicked on the #writer in your post, it took me to posts by writers. <3
I have just sussed out what the issues is with Book 6. I was going to try to mix things up with flashbacks aaaand it just wasn't woking. What next? Cut and paste on a Grand Scale.
Onward and upward.
And then there's my second book...
<pout> Too slow.
Where?!?!?!?!?
Yes. For me part of it is who I associate the name with; Grover, Elmo, and Kermit create unbidden images of marionette/puppet hybrids.
My first book
I write alternate universe fantasy, at least that's what it was called when I started writing in 1984. I understand it's changed.
Anyway.
My main character in a mixed-blood female cab driver from Seattle, who, with two of her brother cabbies, wake up one morning in a reality where magic works.
