the board games sale on steam is kinda overwhelming. i have no idea what to even look at lmao, but i need to do this for research into future game dev.
are there any recommendations?
store.steampowered.com/app/1054490/... Wingspan is another classic, it's an engine building game with not much to distract from it. Good to look into for how players can build stacks of abilities that work off each other to maximize their resource gain and their effectiveness
From a research perspective, Root is interesting because it has asymmetric factions that all interact with the game world in vastly different ways. Their gameplay mechanics are very good at portraying how each faction works in the narrative of the game so I'd look at it from that perspective
Someone else already suggested Root and it's one of my fav games of all time. The digital implementation is good, but Root benefits a lot from tabletalk so I recommend trying it with friends or at least discord acquaintances store.steampowered.com/app/965580/R...
If you don't already have tabletop simulator, get that first. There's a huge amount of games available as mods, so if you just want to try a lot of games, it's unbeatable. It's also easy to implement your own assets, so it works as a prototyping tool store.steampowered.com/app/286160/T...
iirc you mentioned looking into Resource management, so I think Scythe might be interesting. I'm planning to pick it up myself because I've heard good thing, it seems to be much more economy and less war focused than it looks store.steampowered.com/app/718560/S...
bearing witness and cheering and hollering
It feels like a microcosm of the issues with these movies that the specevo is this good but the main aliens are so clearly designed to be the most alien love interests general audiences can handle before they get scared because the hero has to win over the exotic princess
do you provide robes covered with arcane sigils or some kind of cool uniform? weird animal masks are also acceptable
I was so disappointed they sent firaxis to the Marvel licensed game mines but it's such a pleasant surprise and more unique than a hypothetical XCOM 3 they made in that time would have been. I do want to throw Tony Stark into the sun for being annoying though
2) is my experience irl too but I think if you have a published novel where it's seemingly part of the tone that you make millenial media references, it becomes less believable that you're so out of touch with fandom discourse AND publishing industry discussions that you've just never heard at all
Especially the panel when the starts yelling about friendship has the "camera" behind her back looking at Denji. She's been succeeding by being stubborn and believing in herself and her stated motivation has been to fight chainsaw man to prove that she's the strongest
I would argue Yoru has been the shounen protagonist these last couple of chapters, the power of friendship speech, her being powered up by people cheering, yelling her attacks out loud, the perspective even follows her more closely.
I don't know how old you are but that was also 16 years ago. Like I liked the movie when I saw it but I was also a kid who loved cool creatures you can't really blame me
i think i read a comic about this once
The thing he said about potentially making 4 seasons baffles me so much because I really can't see this premise lasting that long but I'm fully on board
It's interesting in general what Umineko will give lengthy and sometimes repetitive explanations for vs what is left as an implication. And towards the end it even spells out directly why it explains the character motives so thoroughly but doesn't give clear explanations for all of the mysteries
idk if I would say the enemy is collectivism given the dead wife, the "we can fix it so you can join us" line from the tv, Carol writing mass market het romance that she considers slop and that she originally wanted to make said books queer but didn't and continues to publicly lie about this
and ofc people just speak more then one language, I have my browser settings set to english so youtube autotranslates my native language into the shitty english ai translation
I didn't know about the extension tyvm for talking about it
my memory is blurry but iirc there's another funny aspect of this: if you try to grind and get through the battle this way, the level scaling for enemies kicks in and you don't have any way to get better weapons to keep up with it in the starting region, so the fight becomes harder
This is so evocative, both the writing and the css
I really like the "the universe was suddenly ours" line that speech ends with
A Beast and a Girl (⒈serve )
A factor here are that HK has a lot of young people and children in the fanbase who are naturally more impatient about this stuff and more likely to spread the memes and ask about Silksong at every event. Usually games are also announced later and have more regular status updates until launch
What kind of music do they have?
Melt
Oh super, vielen Dank!
