I kinda prefer Reddit's upvote/downvote structure. It's not intended to be an emotional response, just, heard, and either thought the post had value, or did not. I know people don't use it that way and it's more an "agree/disagree/I think you suck"button, but it's a more neutral starting point.
One of the things I disliked about Twitter and here is that simplicity can kill nuance. As a bad writer I struggle to be concise, so character limits are good for me. I totally get why we get one reaction, it makes things simpler. But it also creates this weirdness that we "love" everything.
