Like, if I had wanted to just find a wall of text I'd have Googled things and dug through Stack Overflow myself. I don't need you asking the Slop Genie 9000 about my problems when I'm specifically trying to get other human input from my own team.

I can't put into words how much I absolutely hate the writing style that most AI tools use. It's so frustrating when one of my coworkers sends me a giant copy/paste wall of text straight from ChatGPT when I try and discuss a problem in our Teams chat.

The purring will continue until morale improves

Job interview feels like it went well! Really good conversation, I had solid answers to questions as we went through stuff. I should know by the end of this week or early next week whether I've made it to the last interview stage or not!

Next step of the job interview is today! I think I'm about as prepared as I can be, given that you can't really predict what to prep quite as well for senior developer positions. I'll do my best and hopefully will be moving on to the last step of the process at this company soon.

I'm not sorry for reposting this again, this piece lives rent free in my head and I'm legally obligated to share it every time it comes up in my feed.

Home from Chicago and got a good night's sleep. Time to tackle prep for tomorrow's interview and a busy work week at my current job.

Chicago trip was fun though! Checked out a good number of old buildings, saw my sister's cats, and scoped out where my hopefully soon-to-be office is too.

... is what I would say if I was a liar lol. Their recruiter reached out to see if I could chat today because she had some cancellations. Wrapped that up a bit ago, phone screen felt *really* promising so fingers crossed that I'll be hearing about the next interview step soon!

Initial interview with the company I applied to recently has been scheduled! Even just hearing back at all from a company has been a nice change of pace. Got a couple of weeks before the interview, but that gives me a bit of time to properly prepare.

Yet another job application sent today! Fingers crossed I at least hear back on this one. Company seems like it would be a good fit, and it would be a solid pay bump. Also a remote-to-hybrid position so I could move to Chicago after my lease is up and get a couple of days a week in office.

Sadly my neighbors probably wouldn't appreciate me playing trombone in the middle of the evening... Guitar or piano are also both options, but honestly I think I prefer something non-music related for once.

Plus I uh... have a few art courses I should probably actually get around to doing.

Going to be a VERY strange work week this week. I'm planning on using some of the downtime to try and get back into learning to draw again. Having a hobby that doesn't (necessarily) involve computers and is apartment-friendly is feeling more and more important for my mental health.
