Geo-science students from Dalhousie University learn about Springhill’s geothermal resource - Municipality of Cumberland Cumberland County is a county in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. ... Cumberland County was named in 1755 in honour of the Duke of Cumberland.

After the Geothermal facilities visit, the students visited the Miner’s Museum and went underground to experience what the coal miners life was like, extracting coal, kilometers underground.

From July 10 to Aug 8, EES members Wilder Greenman (postdoctoral fellow), Lauren O’Reilly (PhD student) and Tessa Giacoppo (MSc student) are participating on an expedition of the CCGS Amundsen to survey and sample deep water coral and sponge habitats of the Labrador margin.

Dr.s Atkins and Arnott are working on a new project that will help us better understand the nodules at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs! Nodules are common in Carboniferous rocks, and they often contain very detailed and well-preserved fossils!
