A letter on official Congressional stationery reads: Dear Attorney General Bondi: I am writing to bring your attention to the National Lawyers Guild’s (NLG) reported involvement in the recent Antifa-linked violent riots in major cities across the country.The NLG is a social welfare organization with a network of non-profit chapters spread across the country. Despite enjoying significant benefits from the American taxpayer as registered social welfare entities, the NLG and its network maintain close ties with left-wing extremists and domestic terrorist organizations like Antifa. The nexus between the NLG, Antifa, and any other entity involved in perpetrating violent unrest must be investigated and met with appropriate action. The NLG was founded in 1937 with the stated goal of protecting workers, defending human rights, and fighting fascist oppression, but has since been taken over by radical left-wing and communist organizations and causes. The NLG’s affiliation with violent extremism has grown over the past decade as it actively campaigns against measures aimed at maintaining peace and law and order. This includes demanding the abolishment of prisons and opposing higher penalties for masked rioters who attack people for exercising their constitutional rights. Since openly aligning itself with Antifa’s disruptive and violent practices in 2017, the NLG has provided significant legal assistance to let violent offenders go free, most notably during the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots.

The letter continues: Last month, President Trump designated Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization for its intent to overthrow the United States government, its violent obstruction of the rule of law, and its threats against political figures and activists. Despite this designation, the NLG maintains close ties with Antifa and has been actively offering assistance and advice to avoid law enforcement. The NLG assists left-wing extremists engaged in violence and the destruction of public property while still enjoying significant tax breaks, subsidies, and benefits, ultimately paid by the American taxpayer. These benefits extend to its network of subsidiaries and projects, including the National Lawyers Guild Foundation (NLGF), the National Immigration Project (NIPNLG), the Mass Defense Project (MDPNLG), and the National Police Accountability Project (NPANLG), which are registered nonprofits. Reports indicate that NLG members were present in the recent riots and active during the assaults on federal law enforcement facilities in cities like Portland, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The true degree of their involvement in organizing attacks within our country is unclear, but I am deeply concerned that the NLG and its continued support for Antifa extremists pose a direct physical threat to the lives of civilians and law enforcement officers. To ensure public safety and well being, the extent of the NLG network’s participation in these violent attacks on our democracy must be uncovered, including any financial or political backing by foreign nations. In response to these concerns, I request that you initiate an investigation into the NLG network to identify any direct ties to Antifa terrorists, their involvement in perpetrating violence and riots, and any actions they have taken to jeopardize law enforcement efforts. I also ask that you and the relevant agencies of jurisdiction inquire whether foreign governments or entities have been financing the NLG or Antifa’s…
