That your community apparently loves this shit is an argument for cutting off the water and power and letting you starve, not that you are right.

yeah man the Somali population didn't play a major role, like a hundred people were indicted of about a hundred thousand Somali-Americans in the Cities and the scheme was led by a white woman.

Screenshot of news article printed in Yahoo from Jewish Insider: β€œPlatner faced blowback this week for boosting a social media comment about a looming war with Iran by Stew Peters, a neo-Nazi influencer who has frequently espoused antisemitic tropes and engaged in Holocaust denial. Platner's team said the post was made in error and "immediately" removed it after learning it elevated a "despicable account."

In late January, however, Platner sat for a lengthy online interview with Nate Cornacchia, a retired Green Beret who has also promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories. Near the end of their hour-long conversation, Platner, a fellow military veteran, called himself "a longtime fan" of Cornacchia's YouTube channel, "Valhalla VFT," and said it was "an absolute pleasure being" on the show.”

Graham Platner, the guy who had to cover his Nazi tattoo to save his senate campaign in Maine, went on the YouTube channel β€œValhalla VFT” in January where he said he’s a β€œlongtime fan of the show.” Check out these vile racist thumbnails from the channel & reporting on the antisemitic host.

so the podcast that Platner went on as a guest last month and called himself a β€œlongtime fan” of isn’t just antisemitic, it’s also full of anti-Black racism and promoted the racist and xenophobic GOP attacks on Somali immigrants in Minneapolis?

This is one reason that it's very, very important for Palestine solidarity organizing to be solicitous to the feelings of Diaspora Jews even when it's annoying. If you want to drive a wedge between the Diaspora and Israel, you can't also push the buttons that make the former stick to the latter.

02.03.2026 12:25 β€” πŸ‘ 12    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, the Israeli-Diaspora connection is genuinely consciously constructed in a unique way. I think the sense of solidarity has a lot to do with a sense of shared fate and the need for an insurance policy, with the Jewish diaspora generally maintaining a feeling of existential instability.

The funniest and best outcome from the whole Platner situation would be if he wins and then becomes enemies with Fetterman over Israel, leading to a fight on the Senate floor where they both kill each other and get replaced by proper senators

tbh, I think a credible, high profile case of the American left successfully policing antisemitism would ultimately do Palestine more good politically than one dipshit oysterman.

no, see, this is the podcast graham platner was on

02.03.2026 02:33 β€” πŸ‘ 127    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe they'll brawl on the Senate floor and they can take each other out.

the trick is that working class people are people, neither irredeemable thugs or shining examples of proletarian virtue; just people who have a wide range of opinions for good and bad!

02.03.2026 02:53 β€” πŸ‘ 291    πŸ” 35    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

a reminder that Graham Platner is the grandson of the designer of the "Windows on the World" restaurant at the WTC, has considerable family money, and his main business is selling oysters to his mom's two restaurants. These people are fucking marks.

I thought CBS would just spin news; I didn’t think they’d tell a lie so blatant as saying that Iran has nuclear weapons

A whole lot of people have revealed that they have extremely strong opinions about the barbarity of Eastern European antisemitism, unlike American antisemitism which they are ambivalent to positive about

It's gonna be hilarious when It Happens for her in a truck stop bathroom from an overdose of diet pills

I confess that i am not v online right now, didn't see the podcast and retweet stuff people are flagging, which suck. I just listened to the interview and thought he made some dynamite points about Iran and Obama letting the bankers off the hook.

.@JamesTalarico: There is something broken in America. Our economy is broken. Our political system is broken. That's because the most powerful people in the world want it that way.

I am tired of being pitted against my neighbor.

Green-Left but British

And I think this probably *also* helps the Greens hang together as a coalition. "We're not just Labour with a green coat of paint, we're running in a coalition with the decent members of Labour in certain districts while maintaining member democracy yadda yadda"

02.03.2026 01:03 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think if 20+ MPs jumped and the Greens edged out Labour in the polls, at least a few would.

02.03.2026 01:02 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

"We're not becoming Greens, we're running with them just like Labour used to do with the Liberals a hundred-fifty years ago and does right now with the Cooperative Party, because Keir Starmer's Labour Party isn't the party we joined."

02.03.2026 01:01 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

And I think breaking off *as a party* rather than switching parties would help the bitter medicine go down and could maybe help bring some labour infrastructure over.

My wife grew up as the only Jewish kid in a small town in Maine, with everything that implies, and you can imagine she feels some type of way about Platnermania.

Clive Lewis as Progressive Labour leader and DPM/Defense Minister nominee for a Green-led cabinet would do a lot to bring mainstream cred.

02.03.2026 00:27 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

If Labour heals itself, they can consider going back, if it doesn't, well, they've kept the flame of the left wing of the labor movement alive.

02.03.2026 00:25 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

But like, they could dip as a group, start the "Progressive Labour Party" and run only in their current districts in coalition (a la Cooperative Party) with the Greens.

02.03.2026 00:23 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

The fact that 30 MPs might dipset if they pick Streeting as a successor may be what gets them to not do that.
