There’s an upcoming arts festival ”Pasko sa Kultura” at the Tranzac on December 13 in Toronto!
@keet.lol and I will be tabling as @walanghiya.ca, selling prints and zines, as well as zines from the Philippines!
If you come by please say hi! (And pick up some stuff!) :)

We talked about a cybersecurity workshop that @jasonli.bsky.social and I facilitated earlier this year for CCESO (Caregiver Connections) about the current technological landscape as Philippine diaspora and the precarity of being online.

A sort of mushroom character striking a pose, 3. A lucky charm-like sticker with an illustration of a hamster sitting in a teacup of green tea and in Japanese says “I lived today, too!”, 4. A pink rectangle with Japanese kanji character for “social misfit”, 5. An old TV set with a quote by Nam June Paik: “I use technology in order to hate it properly.”, 6. A sticker that copies the look of a Japanese train ticket.
The back of the same notebook, also covered in stickers, clockwise: 1. A blue square with an icon of a wrench and the words “Move carefully and fix things”, 2. Ascii art of mountains, clouds, and grass and the Our Networks logo pixelised, 3. The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium)’s new logo (it is upside down), 3. The Merveilles Mastodon community’s logo, 4. A femme person jumping for joy with the words in Japanese “I quit (my job)!”, 5. The mascot for a local restaurant named Gateau Ghost, it is an illustration of some sort of blob character with eyes and a smile, 6. A spoof of the green exit sign, except this time a bear is the one running out the door. There are Japanese characters underneath it that (I think) mean “Exit” or “Escape”.
Notebook sticker situation update! We have now reached maximum capacity.
I realised I put the W3C sticker (featuring the new logo, too!) upside down.
Most of the new stickers came from B-Side Label Japan.
And thank you for the repair sticker, @ox.ca!
I don’t want to formulate words yet, but my friend Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social of the Disability Visibility Project, has passed.
Here are the words she left behind:

To further that, we also mustn’t forget our own humanity.
#Accessibility #a11y
Accessibility isn’t only compliance or conformance; it isn’t just acknowledging and considering the various needs of different types of people. It is about being kind, first and foremost.
Instead of thinking of the “user”, we need to view them as people and not statistics or engagement.

“They put me on the stretcher and lifted me up. The moment we got outside the house, I saw it. The sky. The stunning blue sky.
“I’m living under this breathtaking blue sky!” I thought to myself. “The sky is one piece of this whole big world. And here, right in the middle of it all, I’m alive!”
