Text: Stuff to keep in mind: this is a scary time to be out, so now more than ever authors should not be required to out themselves to make their books more “worthy” of your support. You *can* highlight authors who are out publicly, but all it needs is trans/gender expansive rep to count gender is a spectrum. No two experiences are going to be identical, so it’s well worth reading and learning about as many as you can! not all nonbinary, third gender, indigenous, 2spirit, gender expansive people identify as trans, so please keep that in mind and seek out the language these people use for themselves to describe them. Be specific and mindful in your own descriptions. above all, support and uplift the real people this event is here to celebrate. Do what it takes to treat everyone respectfully, and have fun!

I've been on ADHD medication for a week and I'm starting to think that maybe there's something to this medication thing. 😂 Every other time I've taken meds it either hasn't been noticeable or has made me feel gross. So happy I finally have meds that make me feel good.

I hate when people pretend like talent isn’t a learned trait. People who seem naturally talented have a history behind them that gave them those skills, usually by intent. You only see the end product.

Also hearing you’re good at something even when you’re not really eggs you on to keep trying.

If you want to be talented you just need to be delusional enough to believe one day you will be, hone your craft, learn from people who do what you want to do, and understand that you will probably feel like an imposter the whole time. One day you might actually feel talented every now and then.

You’ll probably see this screenshot floating around a lot but it really was wonderful to see Lynch put a scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he has his character literally stare at the camera and say that you should either support trans people or die. I needed to hear that in 2017

for anyone else affected: Please feel free to reach out. It’s easy to feel like there are people more deserving than you for any kind of charity, but focused efforts to help rebuild individual lives can have lasting effects that help everyone around you. Everyone I know who had help rebuilding their lives from major disasters or addiction or health issues or whatever else other reasons have all been far more driven to help their communities and uplift people who have had to walk their paths. Organizations and charities and mutual aid, they all cover different aspects of rebuilding. We all deserve stability and safety in this life. The fires don’t prioritize those who are “more deserving,” so let’s us at least try to help those we can.
