There was so much hype around this book and I did not like Under the Whispering Door, so I had low expectations. I LOVED it. Honestly exactly what I needed in this current environment. It was hopeful, endearing, and funny. The audiobook was over the top, but cute.

My sister recommended this novel to me. Some lines were so breathtakingly beautiful I wish I had a highlighter while reading. But…. Overall it was slow, sad and I was not a fan of the plot at all. 3⭐️
When asked if he was going to visit the crash site he said, ‘what site? The water? You want me to go swimming?’ This is one of the last pics of the young skaters who died. He’s a sociopath. Anyone who voted for this monster should be ashamed at best.

I went into this story with no spoilers so it was sooo good. What started out as a coming of age rural gay comes to the big city turned into something truly unique. The representation of the AIDS crisis and its activists was so powerful and discussed the intersection of queer and Black activism.

Reflecting on my first year of being a mom today by taking off work for some journaling time. I think this might be a birthday tradition for years to come. Also, I have to break in my Bluesky account with a millennial coffee picture of course
I think the system would be streamlined if it was in person, similar to giving blood. Oh well!
We are coming up to a year of using cloth diapers and still going strong 💪🏻. It’s really not that bad and I wish more people were able to do it.
I totally understand why breastmilk donation is so robust of a process. But I’ve been in the application for 3 weeks and I have to get my blood drawn a second time because they ordered the wrong test. No wonder people don’t becomes donors 🫠
