A meme featuring a portrait of writer David Foster Wallace, wearing glasses and long hair. The overlaid text reads:
"Yo dawg, I heard you like footnotes.ยน
ยนSo I put some footnotes in your footnotes.ยฒ
ยฒSo you have some context about the context."
The meme humorously references Wallace's frequent use of footnotes and nested commentary in his writing.

I don't know yet.
Part of me is leaning towards a low dependency project, with more handcrafted solutions, but the other says I should try to get more experience with Daisy (and Ash).

Did my best to mirror what one would get from the project generator. Not too bad, though the static vendor JS stuff makes it feel noisier than it could be.
I feel like I'll be ripping out a lot of the core component stuff for a more handcrafted UI component system in the weeks ahead.

Finally got to watch @bryan-hunter.bsky.social's Waterpark talk. It's a great demo of how BEAM and Elixir can help build systems with zero downtime, while significantly reducing technical complexity. Curious about what makes Elixir special? This is the talk to see!

As a former host of tech meetups, Fridays (unless connected to a special event) were never prime time. Many people would rather be with their friends and family. Maybe we could draw some, but numbers always would be higher during the week.

An elderly couple sits together at a Phillies baseball game at Citizens Bank Park, overlooking the field from the outfield stands. They are wearing matching Phillies jerseys: the womanโs reads โTOGETHER 19โ and the manโs reads โSINCE 67,โ symbolizing they've been together since 1967. The stadium is packed with fans, and the Philadelphia skyline is visible in the background during sunset.

A scene from the movie Oppenheimer shows Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, sitting in uniform with a pained expression, hand on his face. A red Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap has been digitally added to his head, creating a humorous contrast.
๐๐ฃ I finished chapter 8 of Designing Data-Intensive Applications. I paired my reading with the Oppenheimer soundtrack.
It was a bombastic match with the book reviewing the complex ways distributed systems can fail--from unreliable networks, unreliable clocks, and the complex concept of truth.
