Oh no I agree completely. Nintendo's main selling point they need to use over the Deck is a good list of exclusives and that's not gonna happen when it costs like £70 minimum per game. Not that Nintendo was the first to do this, mind (EA, 2K and others) but this is very much a shot to the foot.

...it makes me wonder if the reason for Nintendo hiking the price was to take competition directly to the Deck, because I wouldn't be surprised if it caused a headache for them in sales late in the Switch's lifecycle.

An interesting comparison I noticed when doing some digging: the proposed £400 pricetag of the Switch 2 lands it quite evenly between the two cheapest models of the Steam Deck. Bearing in mind the entry level Deck is £350+£70 for a dock and is even or maybe even slightly worse than the Switch 2...

At the very least, I'll give nintendo credit: they're trying to curbstomp the insane scalping problem the PS5 and to a lesser extent the Xbox Series had on launch by having preorder requirements. That £400 pricetag is still steep (a PS5 digital is £60 less) but hopefully it'll STAY at £400 on launch

I don't think another supercar will ever be as alluring to me as the first gen Audi R8, the V10 models especially. Cover car of Forza Motorsport 3, the first racing game I ever remember playing and just a damn good looking car all around, with an iconic sound to boot. So deeply wish I could own one.

Koenigsegg CCGT: It's sad we never got to see it race, because it looks stunning
Audi R15: One of the best looking LMP1s, never won LM but still a great car
Reynard 2KI: Batshit fast and stunning, period

I do really need to play that one again. Simple table in concept, but great fun
