Right. I can set permissions only on comments. I queried the web and got the bad news. It said it's like posting a blog.
I deleted my recent posts about my travel plans. I learned that Bluesky posts are public; anyone on the web can see them. That's disappointing. I'll have to post travel plans elsewhere, where only my "friends" can see them.
I'd let the person be the one to announce one's own travels, don't you think? Is that okay?
