This week’s column. Some (not all) of the coverage I have seen of Myles Lewis Skelly over the last 10 days or so has bothered me. It’s clear many of us are still not mindful enough and do not take due care with language and framing when it comes to talking about black footballers 👇🏻

An 18 year old English superstar talent was wrongly sent off, then comes back in a massive fixture, in front of the world, and dominated full grown men defensively and scores a brilliant solo goal. The English media line up to call him a villain and to “rein it in”
You decide why

Big day for the whole club. I’m obviously incredibly biased but Arsenal take all the heat for not being top of both leagues while other clubs of large means don’t get the same heat.

if the men could also get that result but in a less stressful way and without the shameful refereeing then I’ll have had a very nice day

Personnel change needed at half time in midfield. Preferably Walti but if she’s not fit enough for 45, Codina. City finding the switch to Fujino easily, Arsenal not protecting the back four and not taking care of the ball there. Need to stop the bleed there.

Howard Webb and PGMOL are failing everyone Good morning folks, wherever you are, I hope you’re well at the start of this new week. The fallout from the Myles Lewis-Skelly red card rumbles on, and I think it’s important to say first and foremost that it shouldn’t. At this point, PMGOL could easily…

If this is true, their attitude is the worst possible combination of siege mentality and egotism.

They're putting themselves above the game it's their duty to serve, and if they can't climb down over this, then surely there's a question of whether they're fit for purpose.

Glad to see the Lewis Skelly red is being roundly condemned but we can’t treat it as a black swan event or a one off aberration. Webb is trying to create a culture of referees being stars and it needs to stop and it needs to be called out.

Wolves 0-1 Arsenal: Calafiori gives 10-men Gunners dramatic victory WOLVES 0-1 ARSENAL - SAMI MOKBEL AT MOLINEUX: The real take away from this remarkable afternoon at Molineux should be that Arsenal aren't giving up on their title hopes without a fight.

Funny how everyone was happy to accept that David Coote was just a bad apple and expend no intellectual, or I daresay journalistic, energy on considering if there's a wider 'subjectivity' problem.

Looking forward to waves of (more) gaslighting about that red card now, because nobody can take their fucking blinkers off and realise that referees and PGMOL are ruining the game for everybody.

We're not even ready for what the next 48 hours will hold.

Football is corrupt in a huge number of different ways but if you say so you’re labelled a conspiracy theorist by those with a financial interest in the sport being taken seriously, meaning those participating in the corruption are never held accountable

Next week Arsenal play….

*checks notes*

City. Ah, the team whose owners paid Michael Oliver a shitload to ref a friendly. I’m sure that’s a coincidence.

5Live experts on Lewis-Skelly red card:

Pat Nevin: “a bar so low even a limbo dancing snake couldn’t get under it…”

Mark Chapman: “baffling and nonsensical from supposedly one of our best referees.”

I don't think anyone except VAR or Michael Oliver thought that was a red.

My head is absolutely gone. This season has been draining enough without these incompetent, attention seeking frauds dictacting more results for us.

Every week I'm watching leg breaking challenges, elbows and studs on shins go unpunished - yet that's a red card. Fuck off.
