I kind of like this little tale. I hope you do too!

An abstracted landscape suggesting hills, waterfalls and big sky. The quote continues: “…escorting a meandering flood of twists and turns, caressing the velvet sand of dreamy beaches or smashing sometimes into the rocks of reality.” I am beginning to be more comfortable with undulating happiness. Neither over-rejoicing when it arrives nor over-mourning when it goes, knowing all states are temporary and will flow away and back again. It is more difficult during extremes, of course (like the national political landscape now, like long illnesses, like big successes after a long effort) but still doable, if I just remember that I have done it before, and can ride the wave again.
