With support from the English Department and The Willson Center, we are THRILLED to be welcoming Booker Prize Finalist, novelist Neel Mukherjee for a reading on campus on
Thursday, October 23rd at 5:30 in the Graduate Reading Room on the third floor of the Main Library.

Abhijit Sarmah and O-Jeremiah Agbaakin had a chance this summer to interview the 2025 Diann Blakely Winning Poet, Sihle Ntuli, selected by the 2025 Diann Blakely Visiting Poet Vivek Narayanan and is included in his third collection, OWELE: blakely.uga.edu

Anindit Dutta is a fiction writer from Guwahati working on a book-length project that explores the collective curiosity of rural river islands in Assam facing environmental and political consequences through a cohesive interface of folklore and realism.

Gillian Bennett is a Boston-born, Florida-raised writer with a BA in Creative Writing from Florida State University, and an M.Phil in Film Studies & Screenwriting from Trinity College Dublin.

This week, UGACWP Distinguished Research Professor Andrew Zawacki will be the Sandra Nelson Visiting Poet as part of the Writers Series program at St. Lawrence University this week, one of the best-regarded, oldest reading series in the nation.

On Sunday night, pop over to Buvez! for a Sound Studies Poetry Reading featuring English undergraduate student Ashley Beresch and UGA CWP Graduate Students Christina Wood and Sristi Ray.

We are planning to stop work early today so that we can get over to The Globe for the Spring 2025 Sentimental Touring Club, a reading with five of our graduate students who write across genres and styles. The reading will start at 4pm!

Priyadarshini Oshin Gogoi introduced renowned and beloved children’s author and former poet laureate of Massachusetts, Lesléa Newman at the 56th Georgia Conference on Children’s Literature. She also presented, “Creating Their Own Mirrors: Using Picture Books to Encourage Agency in Young Writers.”

UGA alumna Aggie Ebrahimi (MA English) presents her latest documentary film, "Como Vivimos (How We Live)", in UGA's Special Collections Library on April 3 at 7pm. This was a selection at the South by Southwest Festival and recently aired on PBS.
