YouTube really really hurt small channels with all their changes. My residual daily views are almost near zero now.

Thank goodness I’m in it for the things I can make and share. My story isn’t unique.

Red linework of the Great Fairy coming up out of the water

New, much cleaner, high res scan of Katsuya Terada's #zelda #OcarinaOfTime Great Fairy from his Rakuga King 寺田克也ラクガキング artbook.

The scan I made years back, that you may have seen, had a lot of bleed-through from the other side of the page. This is at 600dpi and I'll upload the 2400dpi scan later.

Oh my god, why does YouTube have to be SO annoying!!! I literally upload a video about every 3-4 weeks and engage with the community all the time. But apparently that isn’t “sufficient channel history”. If I’m not able to get these features back, I’m going to be PISSED!!!

The most infuriating part is that I’m in the partner program so they already have my age verified.

Post from The Dream Shrine - YouTube It looks like my account was hit by the @YouTube AI based age restriction nonsense. As result, I won’t be posting any additional videos here because I refuse...

Hey there, until further notice, I won’t be publishing videos to YouTube. I was flagged by their program that uses AI to determine if you’re under the age of 18 or not. I refuse to comply with this bullshit.

“The technological capabilities of the Sheikah at this time were advanced beyond the level of those of the Hylians. In the Kingdom of Hyrule, the sacred power of the royal family is their authority, and civilization itself has repeatedly declined and prospered, so the technology of the Sheikah can be said to be entirely over-engineered. In particular, the technology to operate huge structures using control devices was likened to the power of the gods, as it was able to defeat Calamity Ganon with its powerful energy. Because it was so powerful, people grew to fear it.”

This in-game art is based on a Yōichi Kotabe watercolor that's incorrectly attributed to #Zelda 1 as concept art in Hyrule Historia. It's for the Satellaview. I screen-shotted these from a YT VHS recording, which is the *only* reason these fully colored images exist: www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-79...

The sage Rauru deemed the Master Sword the final key to the Sacred Realm. It is said that the Master Sword was wielded by a hero who traveled between two time periods. However, even Rauru himself believed this was merely a legend. After building the "Temple of Time" as the legend says, Rauru abandoned his physical form and retreated to the sages of the Sacred Realm. The secrets of the Sacred Realm were passed down to the Sheikah tribe for the time to come.

Rauru, the sage of light, built the Temple of Time over the sole entrance into the Sacred Realm. Using a power that transcends time, the Sacred Realm was sealed with the Master Sword. The pedestal of the Master Sword is closed behind the Door of Time, and the keys to open it are the three spiritual stones. These were entrusted to the forest folk, fire folk, and water folk for safekeeping.

How about a few more of these for the first day? As a treat.

Long before the kingdom of Hyrule was ever established, there was Skyloft, an island in the sky lifted up by the Goddess. The people rode large birds called Loftwings to travel through the air. Their belief in the Goddess was deeply rooted, and those who returned to the surface can be said to be the forebears of the Hylians (p.008, p.064).

A small and hard to make pout photo of Nintendo Museum's Zelda gallery wall with lines going to art of what the images actually are.

Here's what the images are, on the #Nintendo Museum's #Zelda wall, for the first 4 games. There's 2 pieces I'm pretty sure have never been seen before but that one of Hyrule is 100% "new"

If you guys want me to ID the art for the newer games just let me know, I just figured more people know it.

Miyamoto: If it's really nice outside, you should go play outside. And I tell that to people who want to be game designers as well, you know? If it's a nice day, you know, go experience outside, because really, I think there's an important factor that it's your personal experience. Then when it links with the experience you're having with this virtual entertainment, that's when the joy, the fun factor, really explodes exponentially.

And so I think it's really important to get a lot of different life experiences for both the people who are creating the games as well as people who are playing the games so they can really be able to fully enjoy the whole experience.

We’re going to start doing Zelda Translations to cover game, manuals, and companion media (Goddess Collection, Masterworks, Manga (if possible)) in the same style as the lovely @hyruleinterviews.bsky.social! It’s still coming together but I think we are going to take the same approach too

Something I’ve noticed a lot is that “field” is often a generic descriptor for a playable surface. Where I’ve seen this the most in the Era of the Wilds game is that the surface is MainField, the Depths is MinusField, and so on.

I’m not sure if that’s what they mean here but I wouldn’t be supry.

An easier way to simulate water resistance would be to simply apply velocity decay in all directions. But in order for rafts and boats to have a more convincing field and movement to them, we needed changes in velocity based on the contact surface.
