Happy Tartan Day!
Did you know there is a tartan not only for Canada, but each province and territory (some unofficial).
Let's look at each!
Canada:
Designed in 1964 by David Weiser, it is known as the Maple Leaf tartan and became an official symbol in 2011.

Midnight UTC air pressure map of northern North America.
Air pressure isobars outline lows off the south coast of Alaska, stretching eastward and south through Yukon, Northwest Territory, British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. It connects to another low in the Arctic circle, north of Alaska and west of the Canadian Arctic islands.
A high pressure system is concentrated over Greenland, immediately adjacent to a low pressure system over northern Quebec that reaches into the northern extremity of Hudson's Bay.
Another low pressure system sits off the coast of New England, south of the Maritimes.
The pressure landscape over central Canada and the USA is fairly mild - highs and lows aren't too different from eachother over the Appalacians and midwest.
An air pressure and warm front/cold front map of the northern hemisphere for 18:00 UTC Sunday October 1.
A low pressure system off the coast of Alaska is creating a cold front off the BC coast. Most of North America is not experiencing strong pressure systems or warm/cold fronts.
A mild high pressure system blob hangs over the Appalachians and northern Ontario.
A low off the coast of New England has alternating cold and warm fronts.
A high pressure system off the western coast of the USA is bracketed on the north by cold and warm fronts over the pacific.
There are more concentrated highs and lows and strings of cold and warm fronts on the eastern coastline of Asia and north-western sides of Europe.
A line graph of 24 hours of air pressure trends from Edmonton, Alberta on September 30/October 1, 2023.
Pressure was stable around 102.5 kPa from 6pm on the 30th to 6 am on the 1st. Then pressure starts to drop, as it reaches 101.5 kPa at 6pm on the 1st.
I'm re-starting my generally-focused-on-Edmonton air pressure and migraine tracking.
Not sure on a hashtag, but if I keep it all in one thread (this one), hopefully it won't pollute people's feeds too much.
There's a low coming in from the south coast of Alaska.
Down 1kPa in 12 hours so far.
