And while we’re talking about it, can everybody please attend the trans march? Or….

Maybe this year we could have one all inclusive, queer progress pride protest march (trans march plus dyke march plus rainbow march) on Friday night, and one more parade-like celebration on Sunday?

40+ years ago (ack!) fear of being outed, rejection and reprisal stopped many people from marching, not the lack of corporate sponsorship. I was scared when I walked the route at 17, but doing it was also empowering.

Having fun isn’t a bad thing, but let’s match the event to the present mood.

Call me old fashioned but maybe this year, given the state of things, and the peril being heaped on queer folk, we could have a massive, cheap and cheerful protest?
