And what do you suggest we do instead? Shaming action without giving alternatives only helps bad actors.

Action is the anecdote to apathy, so if you saw the horrific news about our illegal strikes on Iran, Iβve got a quick call to action to demand that Congress intervene:

I've been feeling a bit guilty that I can't immediately replace the privet I just cut down in my backyard with natives (since I've got to kill the root system) because birds liked hanging out there, but I've recorded 17 different species in my yard this morning so I don't feel so bad anymore!

Yβall try to tell the internet that agriculture uses more water on a global scale than data centers do at your own risk.
They are clearly not ready to hear it and will send you death threats for simply asking them to eat less beef + dairy if they are concerned about water bankruptcies.
Thereβs a reason us East Tennesseans call Dolly Parton the Queen of Appalachia, and itβs because she never stops doing stuff like this:

Honestly? A police department that isn't complict in covering up crimes against women so I can finally feel comfortable reporting this stuff.
(This article is about my local police)
But that's wishful thinking, so getting more folks comfortable with speaking up about this behavior will be helpful.
I canβt even show screenshots of what TikTokβs local feed looks like for me because youβd quite literally be able to figure out what neighborhood I live in.
I understand the value of having a local feed, but it puts activists like me in danger because folks can figure out where I live.
TikTokβs new hyper-local algorithm is putting me in danger..
It keeps showing my videos first to the extremely conservative area I live in, and because of that, I canβt go out in public right now without getting hate recognized to the point where some put their hands on their gun when they see me..

Any elected official threatening to deport citizens over exercising their right to free speech is one who should be immediately removed from office.
Looking at you and your recent rant on Truth Social, Mr. President.
Screenshot of a comment from a user on TikTok named Ellie that says βthey can slow our progress but they canβt stop itβ with a clapping emoji.
Very wise words from one of my followers.

Huge!
China's wind and solar generated enough electricity in 2025 to supply ~54% of the USA's total electricity demand in 2024.
China's 2025 wind and solar generation total was 2318 TWh.
Those saying China isn't generating huge amounts of power with wind and solar are foolish. #energysky

25.02.2026 15:04 β π 33 π 9 π¬ 0 π 1Iβll reply with some video links if I come across them today! I inevitably see a few a day because young people are (rightfully) very worried about the future.
25.02.2026 14:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I recommend searching βwater bankruptcyβ and βrunning out of waterβ on TikTok. Quite a few of the more doom and gloom videos show up there. Some of the videos might not seem very bad but just take a look at the comments; they often feature young people having suicidal ideations.

Just an FYI that climate doom is brewing on social media right now, and it all stems from the UN water bankruptcy report.
Multiple viral videos have convinced young people that the whole world will run out of freshwater over the next decade, and they are refusing to listen to experts about it.
I don't want to hear anyone in a blue state to complain about the next No King's protest being pointless because these events are critical to growing and sustaining support for progressive causes in red states. They've helped hundreds become activists in my deeply red community alone!

They really are, and the country reminds me a lot of Appalachia (at least the parts I visited). So watching them make progress gives me hope that Appalachia can do the same.
Also, Poland's passenger rail system (at least between Krakow and Katowice) was incredible!!
I was just telling my husband this morning that even though the EPA recently revoked the endangerment finding, it doesn't necessarily mean Boulder's climate lawsuit against the fossil fuel industry will be thrown out by the Supreme Court.
24.02.2026 13:48 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0ME!! A county I used to be a planner for is facing a potential lawsuit from a bitcoin mine operator that is desperate to go against the will of the people and the local government in order to begin mining asap.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of visiting Poland to speak at a science conference, and I've been keeping a close eye on their transition to clean energy ever since β which is why I'm quite happy the country added 3.6 GW of solar last year.
Gratulacje!!
Surviving a climate disaster has only made me more of a climate optimist than I was before. I don't need constant reminders of how bad climate issues are; I've already lived it. Now I just want to focus on implementing solutions so this never happens to my community again.
24.02.2026 13:13 β π 22 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Yup! Then Helene came in and really did a number on their tourism industry. I'm glad residents realized these data centers won't actually help them. It'll just raise their bills and cause air pollution while the only locals making money will be the developers.
20.02.2026 15:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Still thinking about the last time I saw my in-laws before going no contact with them when I urged them to make any major purchases for the farm before Trump's tariffs kicked in, and they told me that I + Google + every economist ever was wrong and Trump was right about who pays tariffs..
20.02.2026 15:43 β π 11 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0
Any bad news for Trump is good news for me, but this is especially good news considering tariffs have impacted the implementation of climate solutions across the country.
Plus, my wallet can't handle more of these tariffs. My bills are up 60% compared to last February despite buying/using less.
GOOD NEWS: A North Carolina community hit by Hurricane Helene came together to force their local government to ban data centers for a year.
So proud of my neighbors over the mountain in Canton because Appalachians sure are tired of environmental injustices at the hands of outside industries!!
I peeked at Threads for the first time in weeks, and my feed is 99% ragebait and 1% credible news. No wonder most of the harassment I received last year came from that platform. It's honestly worse than Twitter ever was for me before I left. Thankfully there aren't many trolls here on Bluesky!
