Thank you!

Fifteen years in, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. For the people who loved me when I couldn’t love myself, for the community that carried me, and for the life I get to live today. I don’t take a single bit of it for granted.

I didn’t start this work until I had five years clean, so it was never a survival strategy for me. I want to be clear though, that those who do engage in survival work have every right to do so. Their stories deserve respect, not stigma.

It also matters to me that people understand the intersection of recovery and 🎷 work. The media loves to push the narrative that folks only do this work to support an addiction or because something is inherently wrong with them; but that isn’t the truth.

I’ve always been open about being in recovery because I think it’s important for people to see that it’s possible to bounce back and build a beautiful life, no matter what you’ve lived through.

I woke up the other day and realized I’ve somehow strung together 15 years clean from mind and mood altering substances.

Now I can’t bully my date into watching the game 😤😅

I don’t know why I had it in my head that game 6 was tonight 😫 why would they have it on Halloween?

I paid a lot of money for them

A question for the masses:

Do you check your fire/CO2 alarms weekly as recommended? I’m replacing all of mine and my little booking assistant is terrified of the alarm.

Guess who thought it was a great idea to get both their 👑🦠💉 and flu 🦠💉 on the SAME DAY… knowing damn well I’ve got the immune system of a gorilla 🥲
And of course I did it on day 1 of two back-to-back 12’s.

You’ve never felt real disappointment until you’ve realized that you accidentally bought The Peanutbutter Cookie instead of The regular Cookie. 🥺🍪

I graduated with honors from one of the top programs in my field that I worked so hard and so long to get into, and now I am waiting to take my boards exam at the end of the month. It won’t feel real until I walk out of that test center. 😴 🥹

Moving can be difficult. It was a long, arduous process but I’m finally starting to settle into my new spot. It’s amazing how much shit you can collect in 6 years!

My dad always said “nothing good ever happens after midnight”
