Having come from semester systems it is hilarious to me that we had to get an email reminding ppl to teach the full 10 weeks of our quarter.

05.12.2025 19:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Further reflection has me thinking about why we encourage students to cite rather than how professional citations work - though I understand that in a perfect world these are linked I think they often are not

Citation is valuable to let a reader find the original source (with research or data, complete coherent ideas, other related work, etc) and give credit β with AI generated content, original sources are all boiled down, I guess, and not even recoverable.
Can't do anything with that citation.

New essay is up (no paywall), "The Afterlife of a Prompt": ko-fi.com/post/The-Aft...
How everyday prompts, typed in passing, become part of the linguistic infrastructure behind modern AI. What feels fleeting to us becomes formative for genAI models.
Boosts and shares appreciated!
