On the plus side, I did manage to replace the shift rod with a salvage one that has a good reverse lockout.

No more risk of the transmission exploding when I go for 1st. \o/

Just change the Scirocco's O2 sensor. I said, it'll be easy I said.

And then it snapped off inside the catalytic converter. :D

...to be fair, it has been 18 years since I last touched it.

Bonus, the THREE cv bolts that failed on the passenger half shaft...

Doing the daily grind

Conventions can get into massive legal trouble for speaking publicly about matters such as bans. It's why you so rarely see them talked about publicly.

Which is why I find it really stupid that people are negging on a convention's social media person for a response deemed "not good enough".

From non-running to driving in a pretty short time :D still plenty to do but the #cabriolet is coming back to life!

Now if I can muster up the will to go sweat in the garage again. It's so hot and muggy!

This may not look like much at first, but this is the underside of that Cabriolet where the gas tank goes, and the rear trunk floor.

It's so clean. I treated one tiny rust bubble (the red primer). I don't think I've ever had one this clean underneath.
