I should note for the in-session numbers, I just added:

January: House was in session 15 days. Senate was in session 20 days.

February: House was in session 15 days. Senate was in session 15 days.

Combined "days" they were in session: 65

05.08.2025 15:34 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This number doesn't even take into account all the committee charts! I know I missed some.

(It also doesn't account for staff time, etc. in the costs.)

They used more than 250 in January across both chambers.

250 x $50 = $12,500

They used more than 325 in February across both chambers.

325 x $50 = $16,250

(President Trump used a few, too. Tariffs. Gulf of America.)

Congress used more than 560 charts, props, and posters in January and February of this year.

They were in session 65 days those two months.

That's roughly 8 charts/day.

If the average chart is $50, they spent $28,000 in two months.

(January + February top 2 attached.)

I'm probably long overdue but here you go:

The top frequently asked questions about FloorCharts and Congress.

Including but not limited to:

How much do these cost?
Who and why do we print these?
Who uses more charts anyway?!

and more

I stumbled upon some archival charts that led me down a rabbit hole of the California Congresswoman who eventually lost a senate race to Richard Nixon.

But before that: she was an actress who learned how to work media for a purpose.

Really, Senator Whitehouse? Just a black Sharpie on white poster-board?

So here's the deal: they CAN drop images and video into the feed directly in the House and Senate. They have! They should!

One thing I love about the replica Senate Floor at the EM Kennedy Center in Boston is the big screen behind the dais & digital voting screens (both of which do not *actually* exist in either chamber in Congress)

Should also note that you're not allowed to bring screens on to the House floor (ie no powerpoints) and committee rooms do have screens, but the majority controls them, and they're still not as effective as a good ol' sign.

Mostly the printing and graphics office which are great and do quick turnaround. Some of the partisan offices (Caucus/Conference) have large format printers that stick on to poster boards too.

The NPR, PBS Grift Has Ripped Us Off for Too Long For years, American taxpayers have been on the hook for subsidizing National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which spread

to be honest, consider me disgusted seeing all the liberals be snide and focus on the slug part of this press release

and not the fact they’re publicly trying to defund public media for REPORTING ON TRANS PEOPLE

Congressional Chart Making The graphics department of the Senate Republican Conference talked about the process for making the charts used by members of Congress.

Sorry for the delay! There is a printing office. Staff luse regular old software in some cases. (One news outlet tried to get access to the printing office and was denied!)

I'm sure @yuribeckelman.bsky.social could enlighten us too
