Very happy to see this game has a release date now. I loved the demo, that is still available on Steam and i can just recommend it if to people who might enjoy exploring big structures and some cool platforming.

And the music is just gorgeous.. hope the OST will be available separately as well.

SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

there’s this weird idea a lot of people seem to have about how all of us writers and artists must secretly want to use AI and are merely resisting temptation for ethical reasons, and like, no, it’s not hard for me to resist drinking the bowl of Piss With Glass In It actually

what legal recourse do artists and museums have against international militaries stealing and using our work to commit warcrimes, since apparently that's a conversation we need to have now.

"are games art?" asinine question
"are games treated as art culturally?" not even a little bit, not even by the vast majority of people who care about proving that games are art

Finally: AI cannot do your job, but an AI salesman can 100% convince your boss to fire you and replace you with an AI that can't do your job, and when the bubble bursts, the money-hemorrhaging "foundation models" will be shut off and we'll lose the AI that can't do your job, and you will be long gone, retrained or retired or "discouraged" and out of the labor market, and no one will do your job.
AI is the asbestos we are shoveling into the walls of our society and our descendants will be digging it out for generations:

I think transparency and giving the customers an opportunity to get a review when they are asked to buy it is a pretty good reason.

But yeah, when the hype is big of course studios don't need reviews anymore. I'm just arguing that that is not a good thing to do.

Chiitan loves all transgender people.
I've received a lot of criticism for expressing my support, but what's more important is that all transgender people live happy lives.

I am really annoyed about some of the discourse around this game. Like the "double damage" stuff and other points that just make me hope that developers don't listen too much to their audience.

But a lot of these issues could be "fixed" with some difficulty and other accessibility options.

To me Silksong so far is amazing and i think there is value in a certain level of frustration. Silksong was also perfect for me so far in that regard.

But yes, the game not having difficulty options etc. still sucks. The "everyone shares the same experience" part doesn't work anyway.

"I don't care that he's dead."
"He's not a hero."
"He's a scumbag."
"He shouldn't be celebrated."

No, no. I'm not saying that about Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk said that about George Floyd.

Just in case anyone's interested in what he thought was fair to say about someone who was killed on camera.

We Must Not Posthumously Sanitize Charlie Kirk's Hateful Life Influential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.

There has been a rush among centrists like Gavin Newsom and Ezra Klein to brush over the hateful life of Charlie Kirk and valorize the man.

Let me be clear, killing Charlie Kirk was wrong and abhorrent.

We must condemn murder without sanitizing a man who built his empire on hate.

My latest piece.

I think, if possible, they should provide reviewers the opportunity to review a game before release. But i'm fine if we don't agree

I was mostly annoyed about some people making it sound like this is about reviewers entitlement, even though it's just about them being able to provide "a service"

24.08.2025 11:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's not about the "entitlement" of reviewers. It's their job. No one talks about my entitlement to get a keyboard/ladder/broom etc so i can do my job

But people who are going to pay for a product should have the opportunity to get information about the product through reviews, BEFORE it's released

24.08.2025 11:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Which is why i don't get the point about it being "unfair". They are doing their job. They are not just playing games like us for fun.

If it is really such a huge issue for backers that reviewers are doing their job, then give the game to the backers early too. I don't really give a fuck about that

24.08.2025 11:35 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes. That's how it works.

Reviewers do a job, it's not their free time. They review (it's in the name) products and then give customers information about the condition of the product, give an opinion about how much they enjoy it etc. so people who pay for it can make a decision to buy or not to buy
