What are your favorite CRT specific pixel art effects outside of the usual "composite TVs make Sonic waterfalls and SOR 2 light cones look transparent"?

Mine is how SNK used scanlines for subpixel detail with Ryo's belt. Without them you get a solid gold line instead of separate dan stripes.

the thing about "game emulation is preservation" that kinda gets lost in the conversation that follows utterances of the phrase is that it's not just about having copies of software laying around for the sake of it. emulation makes art accessible. that's really important.
