Mr. Albus loves an open window in the morning, when the birds are singing and a slight breeze is blowing through the maple tree.

very well done! pattern matching along a zipper is no small feat, and you perfectly did just that.

I made a mistake and had to learn how to unpick a 4 thread seam. Any time I feel completely defeated by life, I remember that I made it through that day.
#mistakes teach you.

Method for a bias bound neckline with a deep point at center front
I am making this dress for the 4th time, and refining my technique for a bound finish. This time I used a lot of handwork, which takes time but allows me to stay in control. Iβm proud of the result.

10.06.2025 18:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am trying to work through my fabric stash, but then I need buttons to go with the fabric. I pick out buttons but add a few more to get free shipping. Now I have buttons that need fabric.
an intervention might be needed.

Working with a nearly sheer striped rayon. To prevent the stripes in the seam allowance from showing through, I pulled the indigo threads. As a bonus, I can use the pulled threads for topstitching.

striped fabric pinned in place to keep the pattern on grain
Todayβs unfinished stash project- striped rayon challis shirt. I marked multiple grain lines and am pinning the stripes like a madwoman. I tell myself the results will be worth it.

I was so proud of repurposing the fabric from a dress into a new shirt, with zero waste! Tonight I found three more yards of that fabric in my stash. Not sure how to feel about that.

in the 90βs, I made several rayon challis dresses that simply fell apart in the wash. Now I always use french seams to contain the wiggly, ravelly mess that is the seam allowances. Why do all the fun fabrics have to be so difficult?
06.06.2025 17:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs a good time to buy some basics that can be adapted into slopers. Iβll miss the designer Vogue and the vintage reprints the most.

well done!
as a tall-ish person, many of my historic dress have ruffles like this. I recommend Ikea sheer curtains if you want a scalloped eyelet thatβs long enough for a regency dress. most folks can get a whole dress from one panel.
Image showing how I connected four pieces to make a one piece collar
When repurposing fabric, sometimes you have to get creative. This βone pieceβ collar is four quadrants with seams at center back and along the fold line. Under collar is on cross grain because it wonβt show.
