Oh well, despite the flaws the game is pretty enjoyable.

I haven't finished it yet so we'll see how it turns out.

I can definitely see this game had some development issues. A game doesn't get delayed this much without suffering some kind of damage.

Granted, nerd-guy still finds ways to get some words in, but I mostly just ignore him unless I have to go to him for upgrades.

I ever do another playthrough on hard mode I'll probably do it with voices on to see the difference.

Recently I started playing Metroid Prime 4.

Since people were having heavy criticism of the dialogue I decided to turn the voice slider down and turn off subtitles. Curious to see how the game feels and if I can still make some sense of the story.

Brooklyn, 1980. A kind young man from Japan offers Mario to adapt his life's story into video games. The old man's only request is that his wife gets to be a Princess, as she should be.

It may just have been Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, but if you ask Mario, his heart will tell you he really went to the Mushroom Kingdom.

They are a bit different from the main games, but I kinda like that. I like it when developers experiment with the game they've made instead of just doing the same thing again, but more.

It doesn't always work, but it is at the very least interesting to me.

Now, are the DLCs worth it?
Well, I had fun with them, but then again I mostly play them while having something else on in the background. Emerald Rush and Mega Dimension are the kind of stuff I like to play after a day of work. It's not for everyone.

Hell, in ZA's case there was a massive leak that showed a lot about ZA's development. We know basically everything, especially the fact that the DLC was never part of the main game.

The DLC content literally only exists because it was meant to be DLC.

None of these DLCs fit into the main game as post-game content. Bananza adds a sort of time attack mode which would feel really out of place as post-game and ZA does something similar with Hyperspace Lumiose. The main gameplay loops are completely different.

The funny thing about the Bananza and ZA DLC's being supposedly "Cut Content" is that once you sit down and look at the facts they just... aren't.

Oh well overall a pretty good game. Not the best in the series, but still fun. Probably gonna play the DLC in the new year.

Not sure how I feel about some part of the story trying to whitewash Team Flare though. I know you wanted to do some good things, but your boss LITERALLY TRIED TO BLOW UP THE ENTIRE FUCKING REGION FOR STUPID REASONS THAT MADE NO ARCEUSFORSAKEN SENSE!

On a final note I really appreciate how Lysandre was given some more narrative to him. He was always one of the worst written villains in the franchise, but this game really adds a lot to his character and makes him pretty interesting.

Idunno, maybe they had bigger plans but had to cut it down due to budget and pacing issues.

Oh well, at the end of the day I did like the game. While there were flaws, nothing was really a dealbreaker. Pokemon is basically my comfort zone game and the type I like to play it after a day of work.

a glowing plant is hanging from the ceiling of a room . Alt: GIF from that Mega Malamar teaser. Honestly, what was the point of Mega Malamar? It had plenty of marketing behind it and seemed pretty cool but in-game it's just kind of... there.

The megas are just kind of reduced to "Hey, new Mega's, let's fight 'em" which is a bit of a shame. I feel like having an entire chapter of the story centered around some of these evolutions and what they can do would be interesting. Would be easy to fill up the 26 ranks with that kind of stuff.
