My new goal is to live my life
in such a way that my obituary
will not get 37,000 <Ha Ha> emojis.
If I were around a century ago, I probably would have been conservative. I would have been the one to say "Get a horse" to the upstarts puttering around in their newfangled machines. My mother said (during Bush admn) her father always voted Republican, but she couldn't imagine him doing so nowadays.
Yep. I'm in Middletown where just one inch of snow has caused both the power and the Internet to go down and briefly come back up a couple dozen times. It's taken me half a day to watch a half hour of an online movie.
Except now, JDV seems to be MIA.
Hmmm. I haven't been a cool kid in over fifty years. I was a cool kid for about one day back then, but nobody saw me. Wait, slide rules are cool, right?
Is "Peace Trail" the name of a trail there? I'm not finding it by googling. Is this the rail trail on the east, or is it on the west where I got covered by ticks once?
Just after I wake up in the morning is the worst time now. I feel we're all sitting quietly on death row while our *good* leaders tell us "See, this is how you walk to the gallows, smiling with dignity, because we don't want to be like *THEM*."
I suppose if I'm homeless and starve to death, the stock market will go up. Sounds like a good deal. Yeah, go ahead and slash my benefits.
Okay, why not? I haven't been using it for much lately anyway, and it just gets in the way.
Sounds good!
Rare name indeed, but I once knew an Elon Gated. He was quite tall.
Ah, that works, but what a nuisance. Why did anyone EVER use Twitter, being constrained by absurd character limits?
(4) Then I noticed a couple cars with their windows opened a crack and thought "As long as people think I did it, I should have done it, and let someone else's car smell like dog poop." Oh well, maybe next time.
(3) I slipped the bag through the roof vent. Then I thought if anyone saw me they'd probably think I was depositing it in someone else's car. (cont...)
(2) We passed three Australian shepherds and their humans, all widely seperated, not together. What is it, National Ausie Walking Day?
Just as we started on the Liberty Loop Trail, Shana pooped. I bagged it and walked back to the car, but too lazy to unlock and open the door, (cont...)
Today, we hiked from New York into New Jersey and back in the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge. It was one of the easiest trails I've been on in the northeast, and they had numerous benches to sit on to make it even easier. I'm not complaining. (cont...)
It's just the same text that's on the Facebook posting. I'll redo it with overflow in a comment. The fire burned 5300 acres and is now 88% contained. Huh, just noticed that when I post a link in a comment here, I can delete the URL. Can only do that on the original post on FB.
Golden mounds. I'm not certain what the plant is, maybe dodder (_Cuscuta gronovii_)?
I've just been using bsky on my laptop, but this video pretty much forced me to get the mobile app.
Shana makes the best use of my rest stop on a log. I was counting on her to massage me next, but no such luck.
Although I make everything from scratch and hardly ever have the same thing twice (unless I order a pizza), I seldom eat more than one thing throughout the day, just eating the recipe, often for three days straight, until it's gone. I seldom eat anything before 2pm.
We were about 14 miles WNW of the Jennings Creek Fire. I think this photo is looking toward the fire but no sign of smoke or haze from here.

First time I've used hashtags. Not necessary on Facebook, but still trying to deal with character limits. I never used Xitter.
I hope the text below is readable.
G'd aftahnoon, Paula!
I'm not going to follow someone who reposts Nazi propaganda, so I'll just wait for the real Tim Walz to arrive.
Wow, what's the size of that dog park? Most of the ones around here are about the size of a suburban backyard, although the closest is the largest at about 1.5 acres. Still, now that Shana's used to running free, she's not interested in fenced areas anymore.
