I like to think that’s one of Byleth’s outfits from her mercenary days and she was once being trained to be a dancer, but then she destroyed her knee and that ended that.

Dimitri’s suffering. There’s probably some jealousy about Byleth being in that outfit in front of everyone and some self-hatred for having those thoughts.

I don’t think she wore it too often, though, which was definitely a saving grace for him.

I popped up around 2022 mostly focused on Xenoblade, but I quickly became absorbed into the dimileth bubble, starting with fic and art. I played 3H in 2020 (covid cabin fever) and I've been shipping dimileth since. I tend to hc Dimitri as bisexual, (Bilethsexual, of course, since Byleth is already bi, they both get to enjoy two cakes). I love the disability, neurodivergent, and mental health rep their dynamics bring to light, and how they overcome those trials and grow together during the lowest phases of their life. The symbolism of light and dark, forgiveness and acceptance, and how they come out at the end hand in hand. Excerpt from "All That Is Left Of Me" This is the reality of war. Death is part of the gig. She knows this all too well. It stares at her without remorse in its blind, baleful eyes as it carefully caresses those it seeks to reap. All she can do is stare back. It's what she was taught. It's all she has ever known. The nameless soldier remains in her thoughts as she hauls the next cart, wondering if he will miraculously wake and climb free. Byleth frowns when she returns, and finds there is almost nothing more of him. It's a shame. He's quite beautiful, even now. Flowers of mourning and herbs for cleansing are loosely scattered around the pit by the monks, unbeknownst to them, their petals, too, will turn to ash come dawn. For now, they are blanketed by the slow, morose, vermillion set of the sun.

Feralmitri: You’re no use to me if you’re dead.
Dimitri, in his head: I refuse to let my beloved professor die! She will drink from me!

“You’re real?” “Yes.” Your eyes… your skin…” He began pulling at a buckle on his left arm. “What are you doing?” “It can’t be helped.” He removed his gauntlet. “You once said you can drink from a person directly. Drink.” “Dimitri, I…” Sothis once told her to never drink from a person because of how late in her life it was when her crest awakened. “You would be like a snakelet, never knowing when to stop!” “You also look like you don’t have much blood to give.” “Drink, Professor.”

#WIPWednesday! Last week had too much going on irl to make this fic happen for Dimileth Trick or Treat, which is sad because I was really looking forward to sharing Dimitri forcing Byleth to drink his blood.
(Spacing’s horrendous because I had no time to open it on my laptop.)

Byleth reached over the table and grabbed his hand, "but you should at least think it over. And, well, I do think it's a wonderful idea." She squeezed his fingers in her small hands. Dimitri's imagination ran wild and he did nothing to stop it. He imagined the woman in front of him cradling a blond baby to her breast. "Alright, I shall consider it." His heart sang when Byleth's smile widened. She loosened her grip on his fingers and ran her thumb in circles over the back of his hand. Dimitri laced their fingers together, happy that he wasn't wearing gauntlets today. The warmth of her hands alone would make even the coldest winters in Fhirdiad feel like a summer breeze.
