Just went through the House Improvement needs list and de-prioritized all the stuff meant for fixing up this mobile home. Despite the complications that have arisen, we still very much intend to move the hell out of this damn place, so we're not putting any more effort into it.

Don't really want to yet, but looks like I'm gonna have to start mutual aid requests back up tomorrow. Gonna nix the money asks and just go with trying to get stuff. Even on my previous account where we were getting semi-regular help, the needs lists just seemed to do better anyway.

Been playing a lot of Two-Point Hospital lately. Nice to be on the other side of an exploitative industry that gets paid an exorbitant amount of money even when they don't actually fix the problem and can readily kill a large amount of its customer base without suffering any major setbacks.

I'm noticing that, pretty reliably, even those of us with fairly "decent" or "good" jobs by most standards can't deal with pretty standard life expenses besides the most bare minimum it takes to get housed and fed. Medical care, vet care, car trouble, home repairs are out of reach without help.

Man, if having healthier, less stressed, higher energy workers that can do better quality work with fewer mistakes in less time isn't enough incentive for rich assholes to pay them more, then I don't really think even more corporate tax cuts is gonna do it either.
