Well, That Was the Most-Watched Jimmy Kimmel Live! Ever 6.26 million people not named Brendan Carr tuned in for the late-night host’s much-anticipated return to TV.

BOOM! The return of JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE averaged 6.26 million same-day viewers Tuesday, despite not being available in nearly one-fourth the country’s TV homes. It appears to be Kimmel’s most-watched episode ever.

Kudos to #emmys for paying tribute to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and criticize its defunding by Congress. As cultural institutions like the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, CBS News, and Stephen Colbert face threats, surprised more stars aren't speaking out tonight.

I have lived many, many years and I’ve yet to see an awards show in which they bemoan overly long acceptance speeches that doesn’t also involve several extraordinarily and inexplicably bloated production numbers

Funny idea, but this Emmys speech-shortening bit is a bust. Getting played off has been replaced by….getting shamed off?? Speeches deliver fun moments on these awards shows. Now everyone is just rushing through the same names.

This is makes me think it's the commoditization of what would otherwise be industry-specific events. These people worked hard on producing, casting, and performing in these works! Let them speak. Let them talk! But it's broadcast on a televi$ion network for general audience$ to watch.

Other than a bit of The Golden Girls, I don’t think tonight’s show about TV has shown any actual clips from TV shows. That’s a problem!
