It may not be illegal, but it's certainly misleading to consumers when they see "sustainability" and "zero" as part of the same project/goal.

I've never had any errors or lags in the app. Even with the surge in users there's been no change in loading times or speed of sharing information.
AND it's a nonprofit?! Funny what happens when you prioritize people and impact over profits.
My take on 2 advertising laws heading into 2025 and my biggest concerns around consumer trust with brands making sustainability claims, and the FTC enforcement of customer reviews.
Heading into 2025, there are two #AdvertisingLaw issues that stand out and are top of mind for me:
1. Environmental claims (greenwashing)
2. The FTC's enforcement of consumer reviews & testimonials

These styles aren't unique, so it could just become who can afford to register the most copyrights and pay enough lawyers to roll over everyone else.
This is going to be interesting to watch, as it could open the flood gates of content creators suing each other based on themes.

It's nothing against the FDA, but this is how we see government regulation working: it's outdated and fails to be comprehensive. It's why we need to revisit self-regulation to ensure it's addressing the immediate needs while collaborating with government bodies for enforcement.

We can't rely solely on government regulation to ensure advertising remains ethical, we have to take it upon ourselves to develop guidelines and enforcement protocols that keep up with the industry.
