i have to point out i do enjoy how much kamet's story in thick as thieves mirrors eugenides in the first book, the thief, and also, reminds me of the left hand of darkness by leguin. guys w opposing goals forced to travel with each other for extended periods of time NOW!!

also i love love love seeing MWT's writing philosophy of having the characters start at their worst. like dude youre so right. put this guy in a miserable position NOW that he is forced to overcome and grapple with throughout the ENTIRE story!

sometimes i dream of one day being intelligent enough to write a book as good at political machinations and satisfying twists as well as MWT
